Blair wanting to say god bless Britain, now if he had said god save Britain from the cost of being a puppet to the USA that would have been accurate.
Pity Blair did not state he was a raving Catholic who god spoke to each day as he would have never been PM of the UK which would have saved a lot of UK military casualties.

Blair seemed to believe he was president and head of state, not just the hired help.

Blair was a conservative molded in the finest tradition that money and Rupert Murdoch could buy. How he managed to hoodwink England into going into Iraq truly boggles the mind.

He was slick enough that he fooled a lot of people. Ironic that he was brought down not by Iraq but by selling lordships like how David Lloyd George was brought down.

He didn't convert to Catholicism until he left public office.

BBC NEWS | UK | Tony Blair joins Catholic Church

As for all that 'God Bless Britain' rubbish, it was cringe worthy and false, so it summed up Blair quite well. The British people generally hate that srt of thing.

The Queen is the Head of State in the UK and not a politician thank goodness.

Last time I heard, Blair was on the board of bankers J.P Morgan and was being payed a sizeable sum for using his influence to help the banks foreign investments, particuarly in the Middle East where Blair was part of a Peace Envoy known as the Quartet's Representative to the Middle East. Formed by America, the EU, Russia, and the UN nine years ago, the Quartet's stated aim is to forge peace between Israel and the Palestinians, although this didn't stop Blair from using his new role to make money for himself and J.P Morgan.

However, at the same time he filled to the brim with political correctness and many very left-leaning ideas and policies.

A strange political creature.

Rather hypocritical that he put his political ambitions in front of the religion he wanted to be.
Blair appointing Bishops to the Anglican church as PM and a Catholic, now that would have been amusing.
