Indeed.

It is kind of Ironic, but those fighting for our freedoms and liberty's are being painted as commies, socialists and those fighting against the protesters are all for Big Government, Big Wars, Big Multi-nationals, which is far and away from what a true conservative used to be.

The traditional conservative was one that wished to "conserve" via:

Small Government
Non Intervention in Foreign Entanglments
Personal Responsibility

The current house conservatives are all for spending other peoples money irresponsibly for their empire building wars, expansionist economic foreign policies and theft and raping of other countries for their own gain.

There is a post at another forum that says it quite well on the media propaganda:

In answer to that question, yes.

The idea is to turn the people against protest. They know that protest is on the rise, with the Occupy movement springing up all over the country. The best way to deal with that is to pay your media lackeys to spread some propaganda to make the idiot masses believe that protest is dangerous, that all protesters are anarchist, or even communists.

We've seen the propaganda agreements between the bankers, the media and PR companies. It is widely known that there is a plan to discredit any and all protest in America, to turn the people against it. Documents were leaked showing that the large banks had been working with a company on a propaganda campaign to turn the uneducated American against the Occupy movement. The news media was a part of that, and now that local police departments and government are feeling the pressure they've joined up to that plan too.

That's why you'll often see people on ATS using language like "commies" and "anarchists", they buy the partisan BS designed to put American against American, they lap up all the propaganda because it gives them an opportunity to cheer-lead for their political opinion or hate on people they see as different to them. It doesn't matter that they often believe the same things, that government is influenced by bankers and corporate interests, they would rather believe that it's some kind of communist movement than accept the truth.

They're the kinds of people who would turn on their own kids to support their narrow party-driven opinions.

It's easy to do when you have the media bought and paid for, you just sow the idea of protest being dangerous and many then choose to stay away for a little longer.

Of course, it won't work, because no matter how hard they work to give the impression that peaceful protest always turns to violence, they are forgetting that millions and millions of people will reach a breaking point eventually.

When a family loses their home, their income and their security, they have nothing left to do but protest. Even stories like this one will not dissuade them from joining the protests.

Having said all of that, we don't know many of the details of this case. But I can guarantee that these are trumped up charges designed to scare people away. I can almost guarantee that the case will be thrown out - and that it won't be reported that it has been. They want to scare people away, and for a little while that will work.

Wait until the € collapses, major US banks fail, the markets crash through the floor... there will not be much space for propaganda in the news, just the scenes of chaos across the country as people loot for everything they'll need to survive the collapse.

Where do you get your image of the poor in this country from?

Yeah I'm sure one had empty bottles, one had gasoline, one had dish washing soap and another some handkerchiefs and one a lighter. lol

Hey they were only charged. If all they had were beer bottles then what's the worry? Unless of course they were throwing em at police for doing their jobs protecting property.

LOL. Are you serious? Our government thinks we are all terrorists now. They brought home the drones to keep an eye on US citizens. Running around throwing fits and making cocktails and you are arrested and charged with terrorist threats shocks you why?? Make you voice heard at the ballot box which is how we as US citizens revolt.

I'm tired of subsidizing Big Business and Big Military with my tax dollars as well.
They should be paying enough so those on food stamps won't need them.

I say, kill all the welfare and food stamp programs and let the chips fall where they may.

What he said!

How is it right when money, and not one voice, one vote dictate who gets into office?

I don't support the Criminal Wall Street Obama nor his incoming side kick Wall Street Romney.

Then don't vote for em? Pretty simple concept. Go vote out the folks that really count the senators and reps along with those at the local and state levels who do the same nonsense as Obama and Romney. There is where the power of the voters can occur.

Obama requested the unlimited detention language in the NDAA. His hands are anything but clean. And yes, every representative who voted to make the Patriot Act permanent, who voted for NDAA, who has failed to challenge Obama's grab for dictatorial powers via Executive Orders, and who have voted to raise the debt ceiling is responsible.

Sadly, we get the government we deserve because the same corrupt azzhats keep getting re-elected. The Obamabots screamed about Bush but praise Obama for furthering tyranny. Like I said, theatrics.
