This even goes beyond what they said they would agree to spend. Imagine if they spent this much on education, the GOP would have a fit. Where is the outrage over this huge govt expenditure which is many times more than what is spent on education, research and development, and infrastructure (which are all being cut)? I thought we were broke? If so why aren't we making bigger cuts to the biggest spending programs?

Another perfect example of how the GOP/teabaggers are complete hypocrites. They keep howling about "less spending!" but spend like lunatics themselves.

Ginormous defense spending is one form of BIG government that the GOP relishes. I'm not surprised by any of it.

Didn't Congress just order 30,000 drones ? Where's that money coming from ?
Shouldn't US LE be considered "military defense" now ?

But GE needs that 417 million (yeah, right) to develop a new jet engine.

Admittedly, there are no plans for building any actual planes to mount the engine in when it's supposed to be ready, but sometimes, you simply have to do something for the beauty of doing it.

What, you expect privately owned companies to fund their own R&D? Where's the profit in that? Where's the pork? And how is that supposed to make careers for Air Force procurement officers in private aerospace?

Well, OK, we expect to have the F-35 in production. The F-35 whose alternate engine program finally got killed off after it had guzzled 2.5 billion of our tax money without building any engines - engines that the Air Force didn't want in the first place.

It's been proven that increasing spending on education is a waste of money in this country. Our kids are still dumb. Ranked 25 in the world? It's the union's fault.

Obama has already threatened to veto the sprawling bill, which is $8 billion above the cap set by last year's Budget Control Act. Big Deal. Cut some other crap and keep our defense strong. Harry Reid won't touch it.

The US military is facing $600 billion in automatic cuts over the next decade should Congress not be able to resolve a looming budget crisis at the end of 2012.

The only way to avoid this BS is for the GOP to retain the House, take over the Senate and the Presidency.

All possible, since Obama is such a screw up.
