Are the STDs, & AIDS & other health problems that are so prominant among those with Same-Sex Attraction... causing more FREEDOM?

The legal aspect of marriage is to benefit society, by encouraging & supporting the basic social unit that brings in more society members/tax payers.
Obviously, not all heterosexual couples will have children - but the only way to have children is via a male sperm & female egg, so society realizes this is an important union between husband & wife to be supported.
What advantage does society have by giving special rights & privileges to those with Same-Sex Attraction?
Yes, marriage is all about benefitting society, hence why non-tax paying convicts in prison can and do get married everyday.

Please answer this one question:

What advantage or benefit does society receive by giving special rights & privileges to those with Same-Sex Attraction?

Sure - by allowing Same Sex Marriage we are giving equal rights and benefits to those under the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Oh and it's not just being able to marry one's significant other - adoption rights, visitation rights, tax breaks, etc, etc - all these things heterosexuals enjoy that many homosexuals are denied the ability to do so.

Separate but equal is not equal. It's unconstitutional, no idea why you keep ignoring that fact.

More basic family units, which you say are so important to society. Especially important since the man/woman combo isn't working out so well for that.

Essentially, I think there are 3 main reasons to defend marriage between a man and a woman:

1. Children need a mother and father and should not be legally denied a mother or father.
Child of lesbian couple speaks out against gay marriage | Denny Burk
Marriage is primarily intended to support future society which can ONLY be produced through a man and a woman.
Those in same-sex relationships can write up contracts with hospital visitation rights, etc.
You don't go get a hunting licence to fish... different licences for different purposes.

2. Laws should support healthy behavior not unhealthy behavior. Homosexual practices prove to be harmful both medically and psychologically, statistically, according the US CDC...

"Research also has found that, compared to other men, MSM are at increased risk of:
  • Major depression during adolescence and adulthood;
  • Bipolar disorder; and
  • Generalized anxiety disorder during adolescence and adulthood.
MSM are also at greater risk for other health threats that often occur in conjunction with mental health problems (i.e., co-morbidities). These include greater use of illegal drugs and a greater risk for suicide. For example, MSM are more likely than other men to have attempted suicide and to have successfully completed a suicide attempt. "

Men who have sex with men are 17 times more likely to develop anal cancer than heterosexual men." -- US CDC

"The data indicate that rates of HIV infection among gay men and other men who have sex with men (MSM) are more than 44 times higher than rates among heterosexual men... Rates of syphilis, an STD that can facilitate HIV infection and, if left untreated, may lead to sight loss and severe damage to the nervous system, are reported to be more than 46 times higher among gay men and other MSM than among heterosexual men."

Studies show that with same-sex couples, the liklihood of cheating increases the longer the couple is together, so redefining marriage to include their sexual substitutes won't help.

3. Freedom of speech and other rights have already been denied, in favor of rights based on sexual substitutes (homosexual relations).

I've written several congressmen and supreme court justices and I'd suggest you write them in defending marriage between a man and a woman.
