Maybe birthers think that they get to pick and choose which laws apply to them
over the years many birthers have claimed they are simply "defending the constitution" ...... while calling for actions decidedly unconstitutional ( military coup, violation of the full faith and credit clause and removal of a sitting president thru means other than impeachment ).

The Constitution has always been merely a beard that Birthers use to justify their otherwise irrational positions. They care no more about the Constitution than they do any other inconvenient challenge to their illusions.
2. they can't win this time and they're still certain that Obama "stole" the 2008 election
Birthers = nutballs
Pure and simple.
Honestly, I don't recall any one claiming that Obama stole the 2008 election....at least not that I can remember. What you're talking about is something the libs/dems do. To this day I still hear people claim that Bush stole both elections.
It's not about birthers or hatred or any other crap....the guy is simply doing his job.

Then you have not been paying attention. It is actually a recurrent right wing meme, from both the Birthers and the Voter ID proponents.

Actually... that's the wonderfully funny irony here. The reason Hawaii has told him to go pound sand is because it's not his job. They have now given him multiple opportunities to prove that it is... and he has failed to accomplish that seemingly trivial task.
The fact that it actually is about Birthers is proven by his e-mails to his Birther constituents in which he tacitly admits that he's been neck deep in the issue for three years.
Birthism is just the gift that keeps on giving. By the time Obama finishes his second term, Birthism will have destroyed the credibility of more Republican politicians than even secret homosexuality or Oxycontin abuse.
What's next is, Hawaii failed to comply with a legitimate request, Obama is no longer on the Arizona Ballot.
Cut, Dry, End of story.
This has nothing to do with birther nonsense, it's a legitimate request by a Secretary of State, for a legitimate purpose.
Truthfully, I cannot understand why Hawaii could not just say yes or no. Arizona doesn't want a copy, they just want affirmation.
Hawaii has previously said the birth certificate is legitimate. The AZ AG has said he believes the President was born in Hawaii, but that he's following-up on the email requests of 1,200 AZ residents who disbelieve. It seems to me the AG is either mentally unstable and therefore unfit to complete his term, or he's pandering to a small group of extremists.
here are the email exchanges between bennett and HI. in her first response on march 17, 2012 jill nagamine, HI deputy district attorney, links to an official statement on the subject from the hawaiian director of health which includes the LFBC and birth index data.
here is the hawaiian law concerning the release of vital records to government agencies:
"(2) A governmental agency or organization who for a legitimate government purpose maintains and needs to update official lists of persons in the ordinary course of the agency’s or organization’s activities;"
this is what nagamine asked of bennett to verify this requirement had been met:
"(1) What list are you updating?
(2) Is it your normal procedure to update all entries on your list by requiring birth data verification?
(3) Are you requiring birth data verification of all entries on your list, rather than just targeting one name on your list? (please provide evidence that you are doing so)"
bennett has not answered any of these questions and has admitted that he has not asked the same of romney ( which, imo, is a conflict of interest seeing how bennett is the co-chair of romney's campaign in AZ ).
Wow. And the truth comes out...
