Yea, but i'm a black non Mormon, and i'm telling you, the term "black Mormon" makes no sense. I'm seeing absolutely no congruence there. Black Christian seems ridiculous enough, but black Mormon makes about as much sense to me as Quantum Physics written in Chinese.
I can't understand why someone wants to belong to something that traditionally didn't want you around in the first place and hardly saw you as a fellow human. I'm supposed to believe that everything has changed since the late 70's? LMAO....that's ridiculous. No way is that possible.
But you're right in one aspect i guess....THEY know why they're Mormons and have every right to belong if they so choose and feel accepted. But i could never trust anything like that.
You do realize that Christ was not white, but middle eastern and more than likely had a darker skin color.
There are some fairly rough areas in Utah and Hawaii that are largely LDS. Gangs and everything. I personally know a former gang leader from Hawaii who was, in his own words, "a lapsed Mormon."
The lapsed Mormons ain't Mormon; they're called "Jack Mormons" here in Phoenix. No, I'm NOT a Mormon either; just worked with some over the years.
The Mormons hide their past well. The newer generations pretty much do not know it even happened and are brainwashed into believing it did not happen. When the question comes up it is a canned answer not open to discussion. Next time they come knocking ask them about the Curse/Mark of Cain

So do many other cultures hide their pasts; aint saying it's right but, it is what it is. IMHO the Mormons today are a different society than the ones of even 50 years ago.

What an ignorant statement. Of course the younger generation knows it happened. The proclamation lifting the ban is an actual part of the LDS scriptures and is studied in high school Seminary classes. It was an unfortunate policy which should never have existed, but nobody is brainwashed into thinking it didn't. Of course, a lot of non-Mormons are clearly brainwashed about what Mormons are taught and are not taught.
Thinking about Mia Love (that sounds like a porn star's name) the black, Mormon Republican politician from Utah, makes me think of this for some reason...well, it makes about as much sense as a black Mormon Republican:

Clearly you don't know as much about Mormonism as Black Mormons do. Black men may not always have been able to hold the priesthood in the LDS Church, but Mormons have never encouraged hatred and/or violence based on skin color, they have never had segregated congregations, and one of the primary reasons they were driven out of Missouri in the early days of the Church was that they were so strongly opposed to slavery.
