Looks to me like another person is sacrificing their salvation for the world's standards. It's gonna be a sad day on judgement day when all these pro-sin people are thrown into Hell.

What elected position does Powell hold?

If none, his opinion carries no more weight than any of us posting here.

I smell the desperation of Obama pandering to the independent voters.

I hate that Colon Powell has turned into a double-talking jive artist (ie. politician).
He didn't hedge anything - he directly addressed the issue. He believes gay couples deserve to be treated equally under our civil, secular law. That's what this whole gay marriage debate is about.

We all know that marriage is a religious contract between one man, one women, God, and two divorce lawyers.

Salvation is dependent upon denying gay couples equal treatment under the civil, secular laws of the United States?

What a hateful God(s) you believe in.

I see...If there were a hell (It doesn't exist) You would happily serve as gate keeper and throw all the people you hate into it...Have I got that right?

Those people that "respectfully disagree" are not being respectful. It's basically denying people the same benefits because of the way they were born.
