(T)here were hundreds, maybe thousands of articles written in 2008 (and since) about Barack Obama's youth. He even wrote a pretty frank book about it himself, before he ever became a politician. If you think he wasn't "vetted" you weren't paying attention.

We should of course explore the candidates' pasts, not because we hope to be shocked by what we find, but because the job they're seeking is an awfully important one, and we want to know as much as we can about them. But only a fool thinks that if horrible secrets aren't revealed, then the "vetting" never really happened at all.

I have always been of the opinion that Obama lied and claimed he was born in Kenya on his college admission applications and financial aid forms (for both public and private financial aid).
Obama would have been the quintessential Poster Child for "diversity" (he's black, he's white, he's black and white, he's biracial, he's multiracial, he's foreign, he's national, he's Kenyan, he's Indonesian, he's Hawaiian, he's American, he's Christian, he's Muslim, he's Christo-Muslim, he's Islamo-Christian, he's humanist, he's existential, he's Humano-Existential-Islamo-Christian, his mother is white, his father is black, he's advantaged, he's disadvantaged, he's a latch-key kid, his parents protested at the Selma Demonstration, his parents rode in the front of the bus, the back of the bus, the middle of the bus, on top of the bus, on the luggage rack on the back of the bus, on the bike rack in front of the bus, they drove the bus, they made buses, they invented buses -- a few years before Al Gore invented the internet -- they got thrown under the buses that they made and drove and rode in and rode on, etc etc etc).
So he lies on his admissions application and then the birthers pop up, and what next? He cannot release his education or health records because he would have a lot of 'splainin' to do and it would only fuel the fire of the birthers, so he's left spending enormous sums of money (much of it tax-payer money) to hide a lie that he told years ago.
Anyway, the statute of limitations for fraud does not start until the fraud is discovered. In theory, he could be tried and convicted of felony fraud charges (or impeached).

And that's pretty fascinating, since the actual Birther meme has always been that he was an Indonesian citizen who claimed that on his college admission applications and financial aid forms. The single most hilarious thing about Birthers is that they can never keep their story straight, and yet always insist that whatever new mutated version they are currently asserting, it's the one they "always believed."
I swear, Birthers have less integrity than a bacterial culture.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Do your superiors know how bad of a job you're doing defending Barack Obama? I'd fire you for crappy performance if you were my employee. Since that's out of my control, I can only hope they don't pay you much for such an abysmmal performance.
