I think you might catch an assault case for sneezing on someone.
I also think that it's a question of money. If you want to work for higher quality people, then you should have good etiquette, but if you're not getting paid, why bother?
I've given up. I'm committed to on-line shopping, and going out during odd hours. The only peeve I have left is the coffee shop girl handling the rim of my cup with her money tainted hand, but what's a little poop residue? I really like their coffee. There's no social obligation against putting poop residue on my cup, right?
I haven't seen anyone do that in twenty years.
I would. The stupid thing still processes the same as a debit. There's no practical reason for writing checks.
You gotta hate those people with cards that don't work, and they have to start over n over again. Or the people that use it like an ATM and want cash back. Or the ones that use cash and have to wait for their change.
Life is soooo hard!!!!
An article that I read had the following listed as top 10 rude behaviors.
1. Discrimination in an employment situation
2. Erratic or aggressive driving that endangers others
3. Taking credit for someone else's work
4. Treating service providers as inferiors
5. Jokes or remarks that mock another's race, gender, age, disability, sexual preference or religion
6. Children behaving aggressively or bullying others
7. Littering (including trash, spitting, pet waste)
8. Misuse of handicapped privileges
9. Smoking in non-smoking places or smoking in front of non-smokers without asking
10. Using cell phones or text messaging in mid-conversation or during an appointment or meeting.
While I agree with all of these, they are not my top 10.
These three would make my top 10 are
1. Unsolicted opinions (before you say it - CD is soliciting for opinions)
2. People who still use checks at check out lines
3. People who put their feet or shoes on the top of seats at a movie theater.
Does anyone disagree with any of these or would like to add other behaviors?
I don't like it. There are some I despise for it. Some I avoid like the plaque to be away from it.
But...
I will defend to the death their liberty to do such.

I think this check writing think has hit a nerve. Who knew?

Minimization isn't your strength.

No, I do not shop at Walmart, but I can't convince my wife to stop, but there are literally very few options. I don't buy groceries. We made a deal that if she would go somewhere else I would go with her. I have not been shopping for food in a while.
There is a nice little whole foods store where I buy some things. Where I live most people either get their groceries from Walmart or road kill.
OK, you've won me over, I do feel sorry for you. Sounds like you need to move. Come to Santa Fe, you need a change of scenery. Big time, haha!
Stick with Whole Foods. It's more expensive, but worth it. Totally different crowd, with only rare exceptions.
I see people sneeze without covering their mouths. In my corner of Reality, they turn to the side and sneeze, so they're not blowing stuff all over for other people to inhale. Especially the cashiers. If it's one person you DON"T want covering their mouths when they sneeze, it's the cashiers. Think about it. They handle your money.
I'm sorry life is so grotesque, hotair. Consider moving to civilization. How far are you from retirement?

How about you?
Some of the items on the list (making fun of age, race, gender, in particular, while at work), misuse of handicapped parking facilities, aggressive and dangerous driving, littering and smoking in non-smoking areas are, in several cases, illegal and/or a significant danger to the public at large. I doubt you read that list very closely. Only a moron would defend the right to do several of those things on the list.
Cash is hard currency; checks are digitized. When you write a check, it gets digitized and is then in the same form as the debit transaction. The only difference is that people stand around like fossils while they're going through the empty check writing process.
But seriously, I'm a curmudgeon. I encourage you to write checks. I encourage you to double park. I encourage you to remove cold items from the cooler, and leave them in the bread aisle. Please, flatulate near the eggs.
I think you should apply that theater money to a big screen and blue ray system. You'll come to appreciate solitude.
Ah, you just reminded me of people standing in the freezer aisle, holding the door open, while they decide what they want. While I'm standing there waiting for them to decide, and want so badly to close that door on their head! A woman on the cell phone reciting all the flavors of ice cream, so whoever she is talking to can tell her what to get. crimeny!
Those doors are glass so you can see thru and decide what you want BEFORE you open the damn door.
all this biching is contagious
