Sorry, but I was correct. Canada's system can, indeed, be accurately called socialist. If you knew the difference between "universal health care" and "socialist healthcare" you'd have avoided embarrassing yourself by insulting someone's intelligence when they were right.
I don't think calling Canada's heath care system socialized is accurate. Their health insurance system is universal and socialized with the government acting as a single payer, but the medicine side is not. Look at the first sentence of your first link:
"Health care in Canada is delivered through a publicly funded health care system, which is mostly free at the point of use and has most services provided by private entities."
Britain on the other had does have socialized medicine. Both the insurance side and the medicine side are socialized.
On a side note, far and away the best health care experience of my life was when I was taken to and ER and was subsequently admitted to the hospital and stayed overnight was in London in 2003.

As a Canadian I can state categorically that I am correct. For it to be a socialised healthcare system the government would be delivering healthcare, it does not. All the government does is pay the bills - it is a single payer system, or universal healthcare. Your doctor alone determines your health treatment plan, not anyone else. He/she orders it, you get it - simple. No government level to review/approve.
Rather than rely on wikipedia for information why don't you listen to the people who actually know - namely, Canadians such as myself.

Correct, thank you for pointing it out. Of course the truth doesn't fit into the repubutards talking points as provided by their bought and paid for congressman.
I live in the Midwest and this post makes me hate midwesterners even more. Can't wait to move out of this place of people who constantly complain when people are not always overly friendly and cater to their every whim.

Question: if you are Canadien, why are you so interested in US politics and "repubutards"? Seems to be a waste of time getting so involved in something that does not affect your life.

Exactly. Then the first sentence of the article on "Socialized Medicine" explains why that is socialized medicine:
"Socialized medicine is a term used to describe a system for providing medical and hospital care for all at a nominal cost by means of government regulation of health services and subsidies derived from taxation."

Because you apparently don't know what you own system is.

Oh, wait - first you berate me for taking a stance in Canadian politics while not being Canadian, then you take a stance in American politics while not being American? Frankly I don't care if you have one or not - you can't vote here so think whatever you want. But for your own sake, you should probably educate yourself about our politics a little more because you have assumed I have a political affiliation I very much do not have.
Also, only 12 year olds use words like "Repubutards" or "Obummer."
1. You were in the largest city in the nation, in a hospital that primarily serves the underserved. You woulnd not see that go down in my hospital. (just a few blocks north).
2. Nobody had a gun to your head, you could have transferred, signed out AMA. You had optioned.
I think your post outs you as an intolerant hayseed.
