One would have to wonder if the reason this debate can't be held would have anything to do with the fact that the left leaners just don't want to see it happen.
I have always accepted evolutionism and been in some really serious arguments with those who think as I do on many things. It got so serious with one friend that we agreed to just not discuss the topic. Here is a discussion of the topic that makes a lot of sense to me.

Creationism isn't science, that's why it's not allowed in science class. Shall we reject chemistry in favor of Alchemy, or Astronomy in favor of Astrology?

Debates with out end or resolution are a waste of time. No one can explain creation with accuracy anymore than they can explain evolution with any authority or accuracy. This debate has been going on for over a 100 years with out end.
There should be a marrying of the two concepts and the issue of human time measurement might be discussed...because this question is all about time...we have a human view of time..cosmic or eternal time is a higher matter that no one wants to enter into- Instead they go on about monkeys...and the world being whipped up in seven days as we know days to be..both of these dated approaches to this debate are just plain silly.
The core of this question is in the fact that to a cosmic eternal intelligence- a second is a thousand years and a thousand years is but a second- this ancient phrase is the clue that leads to the answer..that human adaptation commonly called evolution is exactly what creation is. There is no doubt that life forms adapt- and there is not doubt that this thing we live in is a creation...so what's the problem here other than arrogant scientific types and fundamentalist that believe the oldest rock on earth is only 6000 years old...which is absurd as the idea that we are apes...all life forms are related byt they do not spawn one from the other- and orange does not evolve into a rocket ship..

It's very, very simple.
There IS no room for debate. Evolution is science. Creationism is unprovable, indeed the creation story of the bible (which I'll assume is what you're supporting) is definitively, undeniably false.
Our species is much older than 6,000 years. We are not all descended from a single couple. There never was a global flood.
Those are indisputable facts. They are not subject for debate.

Read the link and try to tell me that what the man suggests is untrue. He says that they won't allow that debate for fear of losing it. As I said, I am on the evolution side but I wouldn't say that not debating would accomplish anything.
I guess you didn't read the part about how we are not educating kids anymore since indoctrination works so much better in pushing the whole progressive idea. You really should read these things before you strike out.
Christian schools exist for those that want to ignore science and common sense. Everyone has an option.
I can ask you but couldn't those two who came before you. Why do we call the theory that is evolution a theory any longer since it is settled science? I don't like the creationist story all the way but sure do wonder why evolution is still called a theory. Hell that is what creationism is, too.
