If I say that I don't want gays in my business, why should anyone demand that I do so?
Nothing to do with what I want or don't want.
It happens to be the LAW in CA. Lucky Gem has posted it over and over in this thread - even if she couldn't comprehend that it didn't apply in this case.
"All persons within the jurisdiction of this state are free and equal, and no matter what their sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, marital status, or sexual orientation are entitled to thefull and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, or services in all business establishments of every kind whatsoever."
For example: If you owned a business in CA and posted a sign that said "whites only", or "no blacks allowed" you might run into a few problems....
I'm not going back to read all the ridiculousness I'm sure this thread contains. I am sure just about any gay person that's ever hung out at a popular gay club knows how incredibly annoying bachelorette party crowds can sometimes be. The ones that frequent one of the popular clubs here that I've seen often interrupt the show being loud and obnoxious, getting up on stage, taking up entire rows at the front and standing all the time, etc. Basically, they perhaps get a little too "wild and crazy" and start turning off the rest of the clientele. I've never been to The Abbey but, considering how popular of a destination it is, I would not be one bit surprised to find out that some of this is behind their decision.
If I were gay, I'd find it offensive on two levels:
1. The eww factor (if I'm interpreting your "wild and crazy" correctly)
2. I can't get married at all and you're celebrating yours right infront of me? Are ya kidding? If marriage were money I'd be jacking yo s***!
The gay business in question certainly isn't accepting of every other orientation, now are they?
How do you figure that?
They offer the same services to ALL orientations.
