Opponents of gay-marriage law get unexpected aid: from Muslims | Local News | The Seattle Times

For some reason this story really makes me chuckle--strange bedfellows factor, I guess. Our Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire pushed for and got a 'gay marriage' law. She had been ambivalent about 'gay marriage' in the past, The law did not do much since we already had a 'domestic partnership' law. Nonetheless she found herself immersed in accolades. In other words, kind of a microcosm of the recent announcement by Pres. Obama.

We have in WA a process by which any citizen can move to overturn a new law. Collect enough signatures and the law goes on the ballot to be repealed or upheld by voters. Activists now say they have enough to get on the ballot. Support has come from an unlikely source WA Muslims:

Democrats have been running a quiet UTR campaign for some time seeking to add Muslims as yet another voting block, one with a huge demographic growth potential. Now all that painstaking work, alll those random sound bites, all that cultivation, up in smoke.

Hopefully this type of thing will give some Christians an eye to how stupid it is for them to try to have Christianity enshrined in law. Very few Christians like the idea of Sharia law, yet they want their God on the currency, in the pledge and want their religious values to guide the country.

Oh, so the religion that allows fifty year old men to marry six year old girls is against gay marriage. Remind me why I should care what they say.

Man...it really is funny right? What do we hear from anti-gay proponents? Incorrectly we hear being gay is a choice! Well what else is a choice? Faith? Religion? YES! That is right you being a Muslim is a choice! So I guess all the hate and bigotry directed at Muslims for being Muslim is ok...after all it is your choice to be that way.

No, there is plenty of evidence that many gays are self-loathing.

Not really. But there is plenty of evidence that you hate gays... not that this surprises anyone around here.

This should be interesting since liberals usually bend over backwards to appease Muslims.
