In America, most black people and a surprising number of white people are multiracial.
Yes and no. Blacks most have some admixture of European and native blood. Some are Black americans are closer to mulatto and a few are quadroon. However most are MOSTLY west African.

I prefer to put the blame on BIG GOVERNMENT and those that believe more government is the solution to every problem. We should eliminate all race questions on all government documents.

I'd like some opinions here. Do you think the "One Drop Rule" still applies here in the U.S.?

-Can person classified as "Black" choose to be "White" if he/she has enough Causasian blood?
-Any why are people who have heavy amounts of Black ancestry (think carbbean hispanics) not viewed as Black but as White?

Race is a social category. So all of them (bar the guy one from the far right) would be considered black because to anyone who they interact with, they will appear black.
And that's all that really matters
Employers, loan officers, police, teachers, and average everyday folks on the street would look at them, presume their blackness, and treat them accordingly.
Which is to say, the presumptions of competence, law-abidingness, credit-worthiness and general intelligence would not be given to them, the way they are to white people, no matter what their genes may or may not say about them.
Blackness has nothing to do with genetics. Blackness is given by the society based on what people presume you to be. And that presumption has nothing to do with genotype — since observers cannot know their DNA just by looking at them — but rather, everything to do with phenotype, which is to say the way certain genes are expressed outwardly, as with skin pigmentation, and a handful of other characteristics, which are controlled by about six genes out of 30,000 in the overall human genome.

Sorry no, biologically speaking race IS all about genetics. There are about five basic racial catagories on the census. Those who are a mix are either mestizos or mullatos, however for those there is only a catagory called "other".
