What the hell do you need a flashlight on the end of a shotgun for?
So you can see and shoot if necessary when it's dark and you're defending your family/property? A light on a close quarters gun is also a easy aiming device... the bullets/shot go where the light is shining.

Forget wild hogs... I'd be more worried about vicious, crazed bipedal apes.

Ever since the Gun Control Act of 1968, the importation of non-sporting firearms has been restricted. Congress authorized the ATF to determine what are sporting features and to restrict the importation of firearms that don't meet the test. While there is plenty of room to argue over whether a specific gun feature is sporting or not, the chances of overturning the entire law is almost zero since Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress power to "regulate commerce with foreign nations."

The best answer to that question is, it's nobody else's business what he needs it for. If he feels he needs it, that's what matters ... he need not explain "why" to anyone else.

This has long been the tactic of the anti-gun crowd ... "why do you need XYZ ?" which is really just another way of saying "you don't need XYZ".

And, it would have already happened years ago had the people who've fended off these attacks on the 2nd Amendment adopted your attitude of "don't worry ... it's never going to happen".

Consider this ... for decades it was illegal to own firearms in the District of Criminals ... errr ... Washington DC. So don't say "never going to happen" .. since it already has happened right there where the $%^ Constitution is placed on public display! And is still happening to one degree or another, with overt violations of the 2nd amendment happening in most every state right now, with few exceptions.

With a criminal government, and an element of the populace who seem to embrace it's subservient status, that may be the case. But, legitimate government and a legitimate Court, and an intelligent public would not allow the stealth violation of the law by misuse of other provisions to directly effect those ends.

As stated, the 2nd amendment prohibits the infringement of the right to keep and bear arms. It doesn't specify what tactic that infringement might employ.

Furthermore, each individual act of law by congress is subject to the test of constitutionality, regardless of the provisions of the constitution that might be cited to authorize the action.

Of course, the reality is, congress routinely violates the constitution on a daily basis.

I don't like the idea of having a light source originating from my center. Too easy for someone to shoot for the light and likely hit you. Even when holding a pistol, it is a good idea to hold out the flashlight to the side of you and aim with one hand. This way, if they perp fires at the light, the chance of hitting you is reduced.

Not saying I am against people putting flashlights on the end of their guns, but in terms of home defense or the case of possibly encountering another armed person, it is the last thing I would do.

To my fellow patriots:

Our brothers across the pond in Europe no longer have the right to bear arms, outside of a few countries. As the UN continues to attempt to usurp the sovereignty of this nation, you can bet that they will come after our guns. Continue to stockpile guns and ammunition, it is crucial that we always are prepared to form regional militias, as the Second Amendment states.

Shotgun is best weapon for home defense and having a flashlight that you can point in the direction to both blind and illuminate your target is very desirable feature.
