Let me introduce you to well known and prolific YouTube Birther LoneStar1776. I've been enjoying his particular brand of right-wing nut jobbery for a couple years now. He has previously volunteered to execute the president, but today we discover exactly what he has in mind.
Here (starting at about minute 7:00) he calls for the public beheading of Barack Obama... in prime time on national TV.
You'd think that Mitt Romney could get a pair of stones and forcefully reject the Birther movement the same way John mcCain did. But watch and weep. These are the people he is pandering to.

This is a guy who just a few weeks ago hosted a well publicized meeting with several of the "leading lights" of Birthism; Terry Lakin, Mikki Booth, Wylie Drake, James David Manning... Rudy Davis is not just some Birther hanger-on.
He may be among the worst of the Birthers, but he is not exceptional. He is representative of a significant component of what has turned out to be a significant part of the American right-wing.
It certainly got the attention of the US Secret Service. So it's probably something that does not happen all the time.
There are 30 death threats per day against the president, so yes it is something that happens all the time. Those 7,000 agents do more than chase counterfeiters every day.
