The proposed ban would affect virtually the entire menu of popular sugary drinks found in delis, fast-food franchises and even sports arenas, from energy drinks to pre-sweetened iced teas. The sale of any cup or bottle of sweetened drink larger than 16 fluid ounces — about the size of a medium coffee, and smaller than a common soda bottle — would be prohibited under the first-in-the-nation plan, which could take effect as soon as next March.
I think control freak eltists like Bloomberg should be on camera 24/7 for taxpayers to monitor his every activity.
It's gotta be a distraction ploy of some sort. Nobody who has made as much money as a Bloomberg could possibly be this dumb. Somebody really needs to investigate Bloomberg for Blago-like activities; he's got something going on, mark my words.
Oh back on topic, uhhhh...by two medium sodas, problem solved.
Why should people have to go to the trouble of buying (notice I underlined the "u') two medium sodas? And, if that becomes a trend, don't you think a new law will be proposed to ban buying multiple medium sodas as well?
Wow. Words like "statist", "authoritarian", and "anti-freedom" come to mind. Bloomberg is like a mini-tyrant.
Government should never be in the business of protecting us from ourselves. What's next? Will he be requiring all NYC residents to get 30 minutes of exercise every day?
Doesn't apply to alcoholic beverages, guess it's the 32 oz. rum and coke for me.
