The drugs of addiction are obviously produced because there is a NEED. They are valid and useful medications. How dare she deny me adequate treatment just because of her personal opinions?
I feel your pain ..... my internist won't prescribe weight loss drugs because of some personal belief of his. How dare he not give me what I want, when I want it! Isn't that his job?

Weight loss drugs have been proven to be harmful to a segment of population. Most people I know in the medical profession wouold never prescribe weight loss drugs, especially if the patient has not tried the best protocol of EATING SMARTER and EXERCISING.

It's an interesting age, where the Internet leads people to believe they are a lot smarter than they actually are.

Yes, Internet is a place where everyone can complain about doctors that won't do as they think they should. Be it morning after pills or weight loss drugs, we can all complain to our hearts content. What a country!

Where is the checklist of proper care the doctor refused to follow?

Apples and oranges comparison.

Weight loss can be treated in a variety of ways without prescription. Not so with "morning after" scenarios.

No wonder our health care system is broken - people actually think that it is the job of health care professionals to give them whatever they demand - when they demand it.

Shoot - I should become a doctor - I can do that - and don't even need to go to medical school to learn how!

And they'd better be prepared to provide it within reasonable driving distance .... someone had to drive more than an hour to have their daughter's unborn child killed! Oh the humanity .....!

Instead we live in a nanny state where we require someone else's permission in order to seek medical treatment, and allow them to withhold said permission based solely upon the medical professional's personal biases. That sounds very reasonable.

Not.

Stop posting misinformation. The morning after pill prevents conception; it does not abort an existing pregnancy.

Not referring to the initial post. Another poster stated that someone else had to drive their 12 year old pregnant daughter over an hour to kill her unborn child because the local Catholic hospital (which was the only one in town) refused to do it.
