It's only speculation at this point that bath salts were involved. The only thing known is that the cannibal was quite a pot head and was seriously addicted to pot -- but his girlfriend, family and friends insist he didn't do drugs other than pot, didn't even drink alcohol.
Addicted to pot! LOL! I'm pretty sure the bath salts were to blame for this guy's behavior.

Yes, he was a pot addict. He had made attempts to quit, but was never successful. My guess is that someone mixed something in his pot.

You can call the hospital. He needs a left eye, a nose, and much more.
I would tend to say that this man was on more than just pot! As someone who has been in the Miami social scene you have your "potheads" aka "broke people" and then you have the "coke heads" upper income mostly "white or hispanic" people.
He obviously did some "hallucegenic" drugs or a combo for him to react this way.
This behavior is more like PCP, Angel Dust, LSD + Cocaine, or Bath Salts. Pot does not do this. Apparently, bath salts are building a record of creating completely psychotic people. It destroys or disrupts the frontal lobes and they become, literally, like wild animals. This is by far the worst, but there have been other examples.
Something went mighty wrong, but what honestly. Yes i do, i know people who have been smoking pot for over 30 years, i know i know, but they have.
They are normal but have to have their dang pot, healthy in every way, but have to have their dang pot.
I cannot see them ever acting in this way.
Something more to this story, we are not hearing about. It does state, the chemicals in these so called bath salts, are very damaging and hazardous to the brain, which in no way is good.

Very true, but with the way that some people on here cling to the "Reefer Madness" propaganda, you would think it was the pot.
This story is literally the stuff of nightmares. The guy turned into basically a werewolf that could only be stopped by being shot dead. Humans do beastly things often, but rarely to the devolve into wild beasts.
