Shame on you.
You apparently read with no comprehension. There isn't a single phrase of "war-mongering" in what I wrote. Furthermore, I was raised in a pacifist home and was pretty anti-war when I enlisted at 17 to step up to service on behalf of my country, and citizens such as yourself. In the course of my maturing under service with three combat-intensive squadrons, one most significantly specializing in rescue work of downed flyers and trapped troops, I became staunchly anti-war. And I have objected strenuously since to every military action in the past 40 years -- including the current ones.

That said, part of my maturation included realism with regard to human propensity for conflict. Given that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and company went chest-beating our way where we didn't belong, and troops were committed and sacrificed, we then owed a moral responsibility to the devastated nations to attempt some semblance of stabilization before leaving them in smoldering ruins. It is this action, inherited by President Obama, being questioned in this thread.

Our President has acted with calm, rational thoughtfulness and in great consultation with all parties at home and abroad. No hubris. Great accomplishments against those who wish America deep harm. I am absolutely certain that Obama would have never launched a war -- yet would have aggressively pursued our enemies in highly specialized, surgically precise operations as fits the type of conflict.

Thousands of lives, on all sides, are on the head of the previous administration -- as Obama deftly removes America from harm's way without ignoring our moral obligation to those we have damaged along the way.

On behalf of myself and the millions who have served your interests, risking our lives and sustaining damage, you're welcome.

Five Reasons Why Drone Assassinations Are Illegal

"But also the US also frequently fires drones again at people who show up at the scene of an attack, thus deliberately targeting rescuers and mourners".

One. Assassination by the US government has been illegal since 1976.

Two. United Nations report directly questions the legality of US drone killings.

Three. International law experts condemn US drone killings.

Four. Military law of war does not authorize widespread drone killing of civilians.

Five. Retired high-ranking military and CIA veterans challenge the legality and efficacy of drone killings.

"There is incredible danger in allowing US military and civilians to murder people anywhere in the world with no public or Congressional or judicial oversight. This authorizes the President and the executive branch, according to the ACLU and the Center for Constitutional Rights, to be prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner".

Donate to the DNC in the fight to re-elect the Assassin in Chief.
You are miserably misinformed to be yapping as you are.
The issues are new to the world -- as are drones.
These are serious issues requiring thoughtful debate and consideration to establish realistic, sane policy.
Your kind of specious, knee-jerking partisanism does nothing productive -- rather serves to create inappropriate emotional reactions.
Grow up.

Oh yawn. Your appoligy making making on behalf of obama and his own acts of war outs you.
And I never knew someone who was "anti-war" to hire on with the very govt agency who's job it is to make war. Lol tell us another story.

The job of our Armed Forces is not "to make war". It is to defend the nation against acts of international aggression. It's presence is also to keep peace through deterrence.

And you are unaware of Vietnam Veterans Against the War? Unaware of Iraq Veterans Against the War? Unaware of numerous former military including combat veterans now in public office who advocate against war?

Another story? Like young men making decisions at age 17 that they later come to regard as wrong?

Your phenomenal 'unawareness' outs you as entirely ignorant of the issues you comment on.

Perhaps you should be more stunned that for 6/8 years leading up to the economic collapse Republicans had FULL control of the government and none of the emotional, partisan, whiny people who call themselves conservatives hold their precious party accountable.

It'd be nice if someday there were actually a few conservatives on here instead of a bunch of poorly informed social conservatives.
Bush will go down in history as a failed presidency.

Killing someone with a drone is no different than dropping a bomb on them. I have a problem when it's an American citizen targeted and the fact that still being at war 10 years after we started is a complete failure in leadership but you are dead the same either way.

Nullgeo, thank you for your service.

I fly commercial jets now. I flew fighter planes in Vietnam. I have personal friends that are Generals! This country is screwed! Americans are the dumbest people on earth. They've allowed themselves to be put in "boxes". Liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, Left wing, right wing etc. its all a diversion. They have no idea that the U.S. govt is against them. There's no difference between the so-called "choices" for president! They're all liars & they're all in bed with each other and none of them give a damn about you! The sole exception is Ron Paul and Americans are too stupid to realize it!

These wars have nothing to do with you or your freedom. It's all about money and stupid Americans are nothing more than pawns.

I hate it for my kids, grand kids and great grand kids. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I'd never have believed it. Americans are so damn dumb!

I agree that much of your sentiment is, sadly, true ... and I even agree that Ron Paul is sincere and that a true break from the charade would be refreshing ... I don't happen to agree with Paul's proposed solutions, however.
