To set the record straight. Reagan lowered marginal rates. When he did agree to a tax increase with the democrats it was in a deal with spending cuts. Guess who never held up their end of the deal.

Well, Obama compared himself to Reagan in a speech praising himself so apparently Obama thinks Reagan was a great president. So what we have here is (yet another) example of how liberals have no principles. When it serves their purpose, Reagan was horrible. When it doesn't serve their purpose, Reagan was great. No true principles, just say whatever serves your needs at the moment.

Where the hell did the OP get the notion that conservatives "idolize" Reagan. Geez, I swear to God some of these topics are totally ridiculous.

This is what I see Reagan did during his presidency:

1. Reagan was a serial tax raiser.
Reagan “raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office.

2. Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit.

3. Unemployment soared after Reagan’s 1981 tax cuts

4. Reagan grew the size of the federal government tremendously.

5. Reagan did little to fight a woman’s right to choose.

6. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants.

7. Reagan illegally funneled weapons to Iran.

I didn't like him, especially after he threw whats his name under the bus, over the Iran weapons deal....that really made me angry....he wasn't a hero...what was that called, the Iran contra something? I'm going in to look it up....I can picture the man he crossed, but cannot remember his name.

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

How about defeating Communism in the Cold War and getting the Berlin Wall knocked down??? Light years ahead of anything Obama has done his entire life.

That whole Ollie North thing was a witch hunt to the bone. They violated his 5th amendment rights by using Congressional Testimony where he was granted immunity in the Grand Jury process in order to get an indictment.
