So Bob what is the percentage when those factors are taken into account? You can't have a discussion about this if you keep throwing around the 77 percent number. Why is the Cogresswoman citing that number, she either knows it's bogus and is purposely deceiving people and if she doesn't know what it represents then she probably shouldn't be writing legislation on the topic.
You need to educate yourself on this topic, the 77 percent figure is average salary across the entire population. For starters is it your opinion the time women take off to bear and raise kids is not going to have an effect on the earnings?

It varies with the job and location. Point is, the difference should be zero, AKA equal pay for equal work.
Wrong, only 40% of the difference can be attributed to women's choices associated with child rearing and birth. 60% of that 23 cents on a dollar is still women being underpaid.
Women also tend to work in fields that pay less and there are fields that pay well but are inherently dangerous or physical in nature.
Not a lot of lady roughnecks or working crab boats eh? Now go to fields that are typically less well paid like caregiving, teaching, social work and so forth.
There is a lot more societal pressure on men than women to make money and that drives behaviors.
Our government is already way too big and powerful, but I know that doesn't bother you. You love the nanny state and all of the waste and fraud it provides us.
Considering women are expected to take time to rear your brats she should be paid MORE than men for the same work. Why should women suffer for their entire lives for missing a few working years? So all you weak men don't feel threatened by competent women?
I think there should be a requirement for all employers to post everyone salary and bonus information so all the employees know what they are being paid. That would be very informative and quite entertaining.

I'd agree Bob but what happens when you have a woman laborer hauling one cinder block around getting half the pay of male counterpart carrying two?
