That is if it were true.
I don't need data. I'm not proud of this, but I made the mistake of getting in a car with a stoned driver multiple times--I know how they drive. They drive the same way they talk--drifting from one lane to another without using a turn signal, not paying attention to things and almost rear-ending other drivers, forgetting to go when the light is green because they've zoned out.

The scary thing is, most of them are so clueless that they think they drive better when stoned. Talk about being detached from reality.

And texters are at least as bad as either. If history has proven anything it is that you cannot legislate morality. Driving while impaired or distracted is illegal yet it still doesn't and never will stop anyone regardless of if pot or other street drugs are decriminalized.

Pot is not harmless no matter how much the potheads argue otherwise. Does it have some medical applications in diseases such as Cancer and MS, yes. Should minor possession (not distribution) be decriminalized? Probably. Does this change the illegality of operating motorized vehicles or possessing weapons while high or in possession of drugs? No. Will it make one iota of difference for those inclined to get high or those with addictive behaviors? Probably not.

Yeah, if you thought that was scary, try a drunk driver (not really). Much, much more frightening.

You mean why eliminate all the problems caused by criminalization? People smoke pot anyway whether it's legal or not. We just waste billions of taxpayer money destroying peoples' lives over it instead of doing something constructive.

The issue isn't which one is a better and/or worse driver. The issue is if marijuana is legal, you are going to have a much higher rate of impaired drivers on the road.

The reasons you have so many drunk drivers on the road is the fact alcohol is legal and readily available.

Yes, you can argue marijuana is readily available too. However, you can't drive down the street with an ounce of marijuana in your car. You can, however, drive down the street with a fifth of Jack Daniels.

Personally, I really could care less. However, for the people who continue to push for legalization, just remember: Sometimes you will get what you wish for. And in a few years, after the 20th or so person killed, by someone driving under the influence of marijuana, people will be screaming for its illegality again.

The fact is, people who want to legalize marijuana don't care about medical uses, taxes, or anything else. They care about using it themselves, without any fear of criminal prosecution. THEY just don't want to be caught.

At least they don't pretend that it makes them better drivers, like the arrogant potheads do. That's what's so dangerous about stoned driving--they believe that they are in control.

LOL. A stoner is going to be the last one to drive. Believe me, he'd rather stay home. The drunk guy? He's all about going out, ****, he'd be happy to drive.

You don't know any stoners.

This is true. Most of those people going to to the dispensaries in Cali don't have real medical problems.
