The four Republicans in legislative leadership positions (Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl) didn't mind repeatedly increasing the wallet size for George W Bush, so I wonder what on Earth made them suddenly start caring in 2009?

And the Democrats during that time said,

Obama calls debt increase "unpatriotic" and "irresponsible"

Obama calls debt increase "unpatriotic" and "irresponsible" but asks for a trillion more - YouTube

But all of a sudden it's ok, and necessary, right?

Just an observation, 4 years of Obama is still over 2x what Bush did.

Tonight on MSNBC, Al Sharpton played clips of Boehner and Paul Ryan both saying that failing to raise the debt ceiling wasn't an option. These clips were from all the way back in early 2011.

It's pretty well established that Obama's spending increase on a year to year basis is the lowest since Eisenhower. The debt growth has far more to do with the shortage in annual revenue (thanks to Bush's Great Recession) than any Obama spending.

Love the use of Hussein btw--is that supposed to invoke images of terrorists from the mouth-breathers?

The Bush tax cuts have been the Obama tax cuts for four years. And I dont know what kind of liberal tripe you are referencing to suggest that its been "established" as the argument is involves history and facts that you can argue in circles for days. Just because you say it with conviction doesnt make it the truth

They're hypocrites... People like this shouldn't be allowed to be in positions of power...

Perhaps it was the MAGNITUDE of the increase that drove support? If you ask me for a dollar, i'll probably give it to you. If you ask me for $5,000, i'll probably tell you to **** off.

See the difference?
