I never said things were better today, though I don't think they're much worse than 8 years ago.
Clinton didn't exactly do much prevent problems plaguing us now. He was too busy trying to con us into thinking things were a-ok.... building a legacy that never got built.... among other things.
Bush hasn't been anywhere near perfect, but I'll still say Clinton was much more destructive to our country with his do-nothing, poll-worshiping, leave-it for-the-next-guy attitude.
A thank you letter was written to the Clintons thanking them for their wrong doings in the white house. The thank yous ranged from introducing us to Jennifer Flowers to showing us what sexual harassment in the work place is to proving the movie “wag the dog” is possible. Not to mention thank you for overusing Air Force One and letting a 911 terrorist go free.
Just as there are reasons not to bring the Clintons back into the White house…think about a few of these items before you cast your vote. It is hard sometimes to remember the plesant days here in the USA when we have had 7 years of…well, Bush.
In general, as an intelligent society, most of us know that everyone has faults and downfalls and we can all see that the Clintons have some faults. Acknowledge them and accept them but please use your brain to see the good Clinton did for this country. THANK YOU!
Thank you for introducing us to the most diverse cabinet in American history with more African Americans, women and Hispanics to the Cabinet than any other President in history. He appointed the first female Attorney General, the first female Secretary of State and the first Asian American cabinet secretary ever. Thank you for introducing us to Al Gore, global warming is a problem.
Thank you for teaching us that the budget can be balanced if you work hard enough. Clinton administration paid off $360 billion of the national debt. Between 1998-2000, the national debt was reduced by $363 billion — the largest three-year debt pay-down in American history. We were balanced when the country was handed over to “W”.
Thank you for NOT backing down to the “Wag the Dog” syndrome. During the Monica scandal it would have been easy for Clinton to back down on his public duties due to his personal life. But instead, Clinton was more interested in hitting Afghan camps that housed and trained terrorist who had just struck our East Africa Embassies. Thank you for taking the heat for your personal life and not letting it get in the way of standing up to the terrorist organizations in Afghanistan.
Thank you for making Americana’s security personal. When terrorist or national security was an issue Clinton and/or his people were on a plane to make their talks and discussions personal. When we needed intelligence on terrorist bombings coming out of Saudi Arabia, They went and spoke face to face. Many friends and allies were made during this presidency thanks to Clinton and the people he surrounded himself with. Use Air Force One or any plane you need to make our safety personal. If a large amount of money was spent on planes to have 8 years without a war…spend what you need.
Thank you for the creation of more than 22.5 million jobs—the most jobs ever created under a single administration, and more than were created in the previous 12 years.
Thank you for Economic gains that spurred an increase in family incomes for all Americans. Since 1993, real median family income increased by $6,338, from $42,612 in 1993 to $48,950 in 1999. Bush has ruined the middle class as we roll into a recession.
Thanks for the Oslo Agreement, it was a great moment for Clinton to be a part of the Palestinian Leader Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Rabin ending decades as sworn enemies. It was a great start! Rumor has it that the Mahmoud Mahmoud Atta aka “Mahmoud Abad Ahmad” (man arrested for killing 1 person and injuring 3 people on a bus in Israel was possibly released due to the Oslo agreement) was the mastermind behind 911. Many believe there are 2 Mahmoud Atta’s and the Atta that was released had nothing to do with 911. But for arguments sake…if Atta was released and helped in 911 there were dozens of others who put 911 into action. Do you honestly believe that if Atta was still in prison they wouldn’t of attacked? Someone else is Bin Laden’s camp would have been the leader and it still would of killed Americans.
Thank you for staying up late at night to read and continue educating yourself. Clinton would stay up till the wee hours of the morning reading books, watching CSPAN and continuously staying on top of world news. Bush goes to bed no later that 10 pm and his book list, probably very small. Arguably another reason Clinton spoke so well and Bush butchers the English language on a daily basis. There is something to be said for people who are well read.
Thanks Clinton for going after Bin Laden and having the courage to stand up and say we have a problem with his terrorist organization. Your administration started Homeland Security, made Bin Laden a common name in the white house that we should fight against, formed the first Commission on Aviation Safety and Security to began security for all airlines, brought the funding of terrorist groups to the CIA and FBI so they could monitor their flow of funding.
Thank you for the internet, no matter if anyone in this administration created it or not. Gore and Clinton connected 95 percent of schools to the Internet. President Clinton and Vice President Gore’s new commitment to education technology, including the E-Rate and a 3,000 percent increase in educational technology funding, increased the percentage of schools connected to the Internet from 35 percent in 1994 to 95 percent in 1999.
Thank you for taking time to report that the Clintons’ stole silverware from the white house. Whether they did or didn’t (I think we all know that they didn’t pack their own bags when they moved out) wouldn’t you take a little something if you could from the white house. Barbara Walters takes something every time she goes and no one blasts her on “the view”. Concentrate on what is important…economy, foreign policy, and national security not what is on TMZ.
Furthermore…if you want to write a document about any other president for what they have done wrong…you may be able to write a few pages (everyone makes mistakes especially in the public eye) but with George W you could write a book with several volumes. In 7 years we have been attacked on our own turf, in a war where we have lost thousands of beautiful lives, In debt up to our eyeballs that we will pass on to generations to come, created a negative balance with social security, and are hated for the most part by a good portion of the world because “W” is such a moron. Hillary and Bill may have their faults, but a talking monkey would be better as our next president next to Bush. Educate yourselves, read, talk and debate. But most importantly…Go out and vote for change!
I'm glad to see that the Clinton campaign is hitting the forums so well..
The thought of you telling me to vote for a change, and then supporting Clinton, is histerical. Thanks for my laugh before I turn in for the night.
