That IS going off topic. Take out that one sentence from the book. Did that change the book ? NO. That one sentence was not needed.
Yes it would change the book. The book was about all of the different family structures. Some families DO have 2 moms, or 2 dads. Just like some families have one mom. Some families have a mom, and a dad. Some families are interracial. Some families have step parents.
The book included ALL of the above, and more.
To remove one type of family structure is excluding some of the children in class.
It should be banned. We shouldn't be teaching children not to bully kids who have gay parents. If anything, we should be teaching our kids to bully children in those types of "families" more.
You can write a book about bullying without going into sexual orientation.
It's been done in the past.

One shouldn't force acceptance of homosexuality on everyone. The more one forces, the more pushback one will get.

How is stating a FACT, that some families have 2 moms or dads, forcing anything on you?
Is the book stating that there are step parents forcing divorce, and re marriage on you? Or is it stating a FACT?
They can rejsect the book but never let them edit the book. I am certain there are reality oriented school districts that will accept the book as written.

Absolutely, and if we suspect a kid is gay because he has a different hair style we should get together and hold him down and cut it like Mitt did.
Where did I go off topic? The book was banned because of one line in the book. The line was "Some families have two moms or two dads." That is the specific reason given at the school board meeting.
