If the added revenue goes specifically to the Aid momonkey Foundation you do. Otherwise it doesn't.

"President Obama has been clear about his position and it has not changed," White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters traveling with Obama to California. "We should not extend and he will not extend the ... Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest two percent of the American people."

He renewed them back in 2010. FYI.

Stays strong? OMG that's freaking hillarious. Next you will tell me how he closed GUantanamo

Smart money says he is using this to get votes and will just renew the tax cuts again in late 2012.

Honestly, it's really wierd watching him follow in Bush's footsteps and the D's suddenly cheer an the Rs suddenly boo. LOL.

Obama is the best thing to happen to Republicans since Clinton (R) signed welfare reform and NAFTA.

Except today the rich bear the burden of the taxes. I fit in well now, also.

Coming from Obama that's "rich". His net worth in 2008 was $7 million. In 2012 his net worth reached almost $12 million. He accumulated almost $5 million while in office. Do you think his net worth grew that much by taking advantage of the tax cuts and investment regulations that favor the rich???

Apparently you have not a clue what Ingsoc stands for.

At what point are people responsible for themselves as opposed to having to rely on the government? How have the Republicans done what you have claimed?

You realize that MOST of the rich people are Democrats?

Richest People in America are Democrats

Of the top 20 richest, the top 3 are democrats, and 60% are democrats.

Funny enough,
Quote:
Analyzing the data takes us even further. Not only are there more Democrats in the Top 20 list, but those Democrats are a lot more stingy with their money when it comes to campaign contributions. Republicans coughed up $5.2 million while Democrats squirted out only $2.1 Million. These statistics would indicate that the more you have, the less you give.
I guess threatening to take more of your money in taxes may be one way to force them to donate more to get the tax cuts extended.

Two, two, two memes in one!

Yes, the Fed increased the money supply to stave off a depression. So? Interest rates are at record lows, there is no appreciable inflation and the dollar is strong.

"Out of control spending"

This is federal Only Spending:

Here, from FRED, is the rate of change of real government spending per capita (federal, state, and local):

I have always applauded President Obama, because he stands up for what is right for the American people, regardless of the popular sentiments. As a nation we are very ignorant about the sources of our problems and tend to respond to paid advertising -- paid for by people that do not have OUR interests on their list of concerns.
