Wrong. First 1 in 7 US mfg jobs are export-related. To get exports, one must import. Second, had we not done the deals, many industries here would have been dissolved in bankruptcy (textiles, toys, etc), and the rest would have been automated reducing employment by many millions.

I live a mile from a plant where 100 people now produce twice as much as 550 did in 1980. Lomg-term, automation will reduce mfg employment far more than any trade deal ever could. Robots have truly improved, while becoming far less expensive to boot.

For better or worse, the only constant in life is change.

1. Trade lets us get more for everything we produce, and pay less for everything we consume. 2. Our country, and the world, are richer as a result. On the individual level, there are winners and losers, but this does not offset the two undeniable advantages of free trade.

That's a lie too. Context is everything. Listen to Reagan's entire comments, and you'll find he didn't say what Obama wants you to think he said.

Amazing what editiing can do. It changes the whole meaning.

but to tax 250k (meaning a workingclass teacher making 125k, married to a workingclass cop making 150k) is taxing the middleclass
But they are also only using one little "sound bite" which appears to be in agreement with Obama. It isn't. They don't dare play the whole thing. But the context has been played on talk radio. They are lying.

Besides, I'm old enough to know what Reagan believed. He would never have supported Obama's policies. Period!

So you're saying Reagan didn't say that he supports the rich paying their fair share, even though he said just that?

Let's hope he stays strong and doesn't give an inch to the GOP goons

"President Obama has been clear about his position and it has not changed," White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters traveling with Obama to California. "We should not extend and he will not extend the ... Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest two percent of the American people."

There ceased to be any Bush tax cuts some time ago. Now they are Obama's tax rates regardless of how much Obama and his Obamatrons try to spin the facts. Obama did sign the current tax rates into law.

By the way, will the OP also cheer all the other tax increases scheduled to take effect at the beginning of 2013?

Exactly, if he doesn't win, I would bet that the GOP will change really quick when they finally figure out that now they have to actually fix things instead of complaining about it.

Since in your mind they are now the "Obama tax cuts", I take it you must now be a huge Obama supporter and applaud this supposedly dynamite plan.
