Why is it that the "kneegrows" have their "Black caucuses", "Black elected officials" , etc and everything is fine, but if the white elected officials did the same thing it would be a racists problem. Double standards here.
You're right. America has had double standards since there's been an America. That's why we've always needed "black" this and "black" that..........because whites didn't want to include everyone. Understand now?
I'm black, and as far as I'm concerned, they can sponsor the very street I live on so long as they keep it fixed and clean. Couldn't care less.

I live in GA as well BTW and am black.
But, and that's a big but, there are soooooo many families here, not just black people, who have been victimized by the KKK and their brand of home grown terrorism. Basically that is what they are - a terrorist group. Like the article says - how would you like it if some home grown Taliban members came and wanted to adopt the highway so they could get a sign validating their existence and good works with the state.
I see this as some sort of membership drive actually and am happy that if this happens I won't see that stretch since I don't go up that way too much. A co-worker of mine - white guy from GA doesn't like it either. He has property up that way and a business and this may stop people from visiting this part of the state, which is a semi-popular touristy sort of place in mountains.
I would let them do it, but I would take away the signs. Take them away for everyone. I don't like the idea of people getting publicly recognized for good deeds anyway. People should do good things because they are the right thing to do, not because of some sort of recognition IMO.

You do know that there are all sorts of different caucuses right? Including a German American Caucus and most white Americans have German descent.

Its impossible to make everything fair and perfect for everybody. It cannot be done. Even if they get their highway, I dont think its going to say adopted by KKK, I think it will be the local chapters name.
As stated earlier, it will get vandalized, stolen, shot up, etc. By folks blocking this, it may fuel the fire and make things worse.

Equality is a continuum fallacy...it is so lost on most people. It is totally lost upon CD.
I don't see what the big deal is, personally. Let them clean up the road if they want to.
It is not as though it is the first time they've tried to do this.
Are the New Black Panthers adopting stretches of highway and cleaning them up or are they just involved in voter intimidation at the polls?
