Alright Silas, back your statement up.

Show us how the private market has performed so much better providing ACCESS to healthcare through private insurance than any example of social insurance (Medicare, Canada, Medicaid, France, etc.)

Don't show me stats about the quality of healthcare itself, but the market to GET that healthcare, through private insurance.

Part of the reason why we don't have as many "waiting lines" for healthcare in the US is because so many people aren't even IN the market in the first place!!

You're right. The RICH have access to healthcare, the POOR have access to healthcare. Now let's talk about that Middle Class priced out of the healthcare market yet not poor enough for medicaid.

You haven't addressed someone else's point on another thread. EMERGENCY care is mandated by law, not ALL HEALTHCARE. Learn the difference.

Enlighten me. Or do you consider mortgaging a home to pay bills "access" to healthcare?

Come back to reality.

the problem with healthcare is not an access problem, it is an accountability problem, it is the insurance companys and the lack of competition and choices, and one single payer isnt going to make it better it will make it much much worse especially if it is the government! Why would you not be concerned with the quality of healthcare? How is it that in this country any one really believes that the government is the very best place to get medical attention , I would say they dont, what they want is FREE, some one else to pay their bills ! I am sorry but I just dont believe it is your responsibility to pay for my medical bills! I believe in fixing the problem, not compounding it and feeding it with a mythical endless stream of tax payers money!

If you incur a debt, it is your responsibility to pay that debt -

That said, if someone is unable to pay the bill for healthcare delivery, they can still access that delivery system. Perhaps pays small amounts each month etc.

This is reality -

One could make the same argument for education, that private schools do a much better job. Why should education be the government's responsibility? Without one's health education is meaningless, why is health not the priority? Why are the people so opposed to National Healthcare not using their time more productively and lobbying to force people to send their children to private schools and foot the bills? I know I'd be happy with the large reduction in property taxes that would give me, might even pay health insurance premiums.

Do you believe it is the responsibility of the childless to pay for the education of other's children?

No, it IS an ACCESS problem. Some here would even call "accountability" (a/k/a "regulation," a/k/a SOCIALISM) evil meddling by the government that prevents the insurance companies from doing better at providing access to the healthcare market.

And, LACK OF COMPETITION? Are you kidding?

"Quality" of healthcare isn't an issue, because all of the industrialized nations enjoy great healthcare. And most of them outlive us and lead healthier lives overall.

Is it my responsibility to pay for the roads you drive on, even if I never drive on them? My responsibility to pay to educate your kids even though I don't have any?

I say yes. Because in the end, it HELPS the strength and economy of our nation.
