Personally I think we should have Mondragon-like cooperatives, where everyone has an equal salary in their business but there is still incentive for innovation and hard work because doing so not only makes them richer, it makes their friends richer too.

even though I voted co-op based, I would have rather put between co-op based economy and capitalism.

Co-op sounds interesting but I am a fan of free market capitalism. When implemented properly it works very well.

One thing that has to be kept in mind is that economic theories rely on assumptions. And you know what they say happens when you assume...

There is no ideal system. Capitalism is simply the best system.

Capitalist Principles
CAPITALISM - An economic system in which the means of production, distribution and exchange are privately owned and operated for private profit.
- - - WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY

PRIVATE PROPERTY - "As protected from being taken for public uses, is such property as belongs absolutely to an individual, and of which he has the exclusive right of disposition. Property of a specific, fixed and tangible nature, capable of being in possession and transmitted to another, such as houses, lands, and chattels."
- - - Black's Law dictionary, sixth ed., p.1217
If you concatenate capitalism with private property, you can see the "inconvenient truth".

Quote:
Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production, distribution and exchange are absolutely owned by individuals and operated for their individual profit.
This definition does NOT include usury, gambling, speculation, extortion, or other predatory practices usually attributed to "capitalism".

Since the introduction of national socialism via "Social Security", no one has absolutely owned a thing. The government can and will tax away anything and everything. This illustrates that no one owns private property - for any taking of private property must be compensated for (5th amendment, USCON).

Mixed economy.

We had it when I was born, we'll have it when I die.

The rest are just unicorns and mermaids.
