After Wisconsin, and the cities of San Jose and San Diego, Iowa is next. I dislike Branstad, but support any measure by anyone to eviscerate the public unions. Enough taking taxpayers for a ride.

Wisconsin was the proverbial finger in the dam. It was unplugged by voters, and now the whole public union dam is starting to give way.

Of course not. He is an IMPORTANT PERSON and all the rest of the public employees are just overpaid peons that should be working for handouts like the private sector.

I think its fair . Some skin in the game is always important. Our city workers pay more than 20% and the offical who they work for unless not covered at all ;pay the same amount. As far as drug testig that is random unless in a accident ;then mandatory. Can't want to be sue happy and not have consequaecnce to defend;really.

Branstad already pissed off the unions by opening up govt projects for bid to non union folks via exec order. I can hear the squealing from my home now. lol

House and Senate Republicans in February proposed that state employees pay $2,400 a year in premiums, but did not include lawmakers in that bill.
So, you know, "do as I say and not as I do" and all that....
