Yanno, I have even pondered the idea, I wonder if, they are playing these games on purpose, you know, like to attorneys who are supposed to be fighting for they're clients, however, they are best buds...and work out bargins with each other...? It would make sense, because as long as I've lived, all I've ever seen is it goes back and forth, every 4 - 8 years, and it doesn't really change, does it? I mean now and again, they'll thow us a bone to keep us happy, but honestly, neither side really makes great big good changes...all they do is keep taking away more rights a little at a time. that way, they avoid getting people really mad and revolution.

Shankapotomus Well, the idea is not born out of wanting to hurt or fire anybody. I love teachers and wouldn't want to see them hurt. I would like to see as many teaching staff survive such a transition as possible. It wouldn't necessitate teachers or their jobs changing in any way other than now they would be conducting their classes entirely online.
No, no, no, I was talking about the heads of the colleges...

As far as frivolous classes go, I don't see anything wrong with an off beat college course here and there. It keeps things fun and interesting. I'm not sure how such courses work credit wise but I don't think it's a good idea to go around just banning certain courses.
If your going to college to be an accountant, then you should be doing that...manditory classes should only evolve around those classes, if you want to take a gym class so be it, but it should not be mandory for your credits...that is what I'm talking about....

Agree. The focus should be on YOUR TRADE, and not all of the BS electives! It's just another way to line the pockets of the university.

You're welcome. I say we keep this thread going. It was refreshing save for a few posts here that for the most part this thread didn't deteriorate and turn into yet another bash thread.
If you ignore those posts, then their insults have nothing further to say... Generally I find that those people are argumentative and are driven by contrary remarks and controversy...they argue for the pleasure it feeds them, or those that are closed minded and naieve...and have nothing more to add or say....

Fewer parties fewer opponents and less chance of being out of power? Or am i just being cynical?

I don't think democrats are necessarily the ideal or that they have particularly good ideas, but I know for a fact that republicans have terrible ideas. Unfortunately, their ideas have a way of sounding good to people who are largely uneducated, and just like the obesity epidemic, the problem of ignorance and anti-intellectualism are becoming epidemic in this country, and for much the same reasons as obesity: laziness and a demand for a product quickly.

Americans are fat, dumb, and ugly.

There have been secret societies since the beginning of time. I find it interesting how old the Masons are, and even more intreging, are the artists. Way back then, they would be driven out, shunned if they didn't go along with the masses...no pun intended, so they painted messages in their paintings.

I want to learn, and hear how we can Fix America...I want some knowledge here as to what you think...lets disect each problem...and what we would do to fix it? I want to know if there are people out there who are not afraid to speak up, b/c bullies might come into this thread and make a fool out of them? So what? It's time we smarten up and speak out...ignore those who bully and try to embarrass the other side, b/c literally, they speak for themselves when it comes to intellect don't they?

When in the world are Americans going to stop defending they're corrupt parties? Every four to eight years, we bounce back and forth and back and forth, and buy into they're promises that do not come into fruition and lies...

Don't you think or believe, any candidate who is running for President would talk about the real issues of this instead of gay marriage, and women's rights??????????

I mean seriously....
think about it....why aren't they talking about our systems that are failing? all of them? Why aren't they talking about what they're plans are for helping this country create jobs once again, and, can a President really create jobs, when in fact it's the Corporations that are taking our jobs over seas?????? I mean, what is wrong with this picture? And Obama claims, he's created jobs and things are getting better? Yet, Romney, all he does is attack Obama and never touches base on the real issues of this country. OK, Romney, your running for President, what do you intend to do about all the illegals in this country draining our systems?????????? What are you going to do about our failing infostructure, which if addressed and we started to fix infostructure it would create jobs. I swear, all they do, is go for the throat, and the Americans are not seeing this...how utterly stupid we've become that we can't see how Washington and Politicians have literally ruined our county, and we're very close to becoming a 3rd world country? When are all of you going to stop fighting and blaming each other and wake up...BOTH SIDES ARE CORRUPT AND THE PROBLEMS THAT FACE US ARE HORRENDOUS!!!! THE DECISSIONS THEY'VE BEEN MAKING ARE NOT IN OUR FAVOR, AND YET, THEY TELL US, we need to have our taxes raised, then why oh why do they keep spending? When is it going to stop...for instance, the first thing I would do, in these hard times, is if I were elected, I'd not have the presidential inaugural ball!!!!
That is ridiculous...who pays for all the hollywood stars to come to the White House and Entertain?

Lets talk about what the President and Washington should do...
I don't want anyone in this thread who is going to bash the other side, I want intelligent posts from people who have the intelligence to see what's going on in politics...I want suggestions as to what you would do, if you were President....what do you see going on and how can we fix welfare, insurance companies, prices, what can we do about gas/oil, our military, education, what can we do to make America strong again...to help educate American's so that we never regress to this level again? To keep america free and not a socialist nation...what can we do about all the crime in America? How can we educate those who live in poverty, so they don't pull America down by living on welfare? How can we bring jobs back to America, so we can make better products?

Do any of you have any ideas...

Lets together fix America....this thread is open to all topics on how to fix America

Lets do it....
Politics 101 is never give the other side ammunition. Politicians do not talk about specifics because most of the time they have no plan. The other reason is that it gives the other side something to attack. An example is Cain's 999 plan. It was easy to attack because it was so idiotic. Then he was stuck defending it.

i don't know that it was idiotic, I didn't like it, however, I don't believe he himself had specifically refined it, he might have simply been thinking out loud? But I really don't believe it would have passed. However, while I didn't agree with that, he had other ideas, that were along the lines of what we are discussing here> Was it hog wash, guess we'll never know. They feed us all kinds of stimulus while they are running, then it all gets washed up when they are elected...funny huh.

Anyway, I do agree with you on Politics 101, but don't you find it really rather insane, that more people in this country do not ask for more information about what they plan to do, I mean it's like we're all zombies...we ask no questions...

remember Bush kept saying, "I have a plan" and I kept screaming, "WHAT PLAN, WHAT DO YOU INTEND TO DO?" So, yes indeed your right, but why haven't more American's asked themselves these questions? That to me, is simply astounding, actually frightening. And what is more frightening, people in this country, in this day and age, actually voting for someone b/c they are a women, or because they want abortion abolished or b/c they dislike gays and don't want gay marriage????????
How utterly stupid? really??????? I mean I wish you could hear my voice, I almost want to cry that people are that I don't want to say stupid, what's the word....it's pathetic that we are that far out of touch???????? How can this be????? I mean, I'm talking the corporation I work in, they are college graduates??????

Womens issues and gay marriage are real problems, but not the only problems we have. IMHO our greatest problem is the extreme partisanship that keeps Washington in a perpetual stall mode. Moderates are forced out in favor of the far right or left, and compromise has become a dirty word.

Also, we as a society have such a short attention span that we believe the sound bites rather than actually look into the problems and solutions in detail. We want quick answers and quick solutions to problems (like the recession) that took more than one administration to create.

And as for "revolution" I will be on the front lines defending the union, as will a lot of other people I know.
