But they are able to get work permits. How to you process hundreds of thousands of new applications without any planning ?

Oh wait..this is the government I'm talking about. They don't need any "planning", they'll just use the rubber stamp.

Obama went ahead and put this in place without Congress voting on it, which is against the Constitution. He went a little to far with this...yes, a political move...he thinks he is the Imperial President...this just grabs Americans by the throat. He is definately not for the people, that is for certain...you don't do something like this...?

What Article and Section did Obama violate?

There is significant judicial approval of this proposition that President may appropriately decline to enforce a statute. Most notable is the Court's decision in Myers v. United States, 272 U.S. 52 (1926). There the Court sustained the President's refusal to abide by the statute. In Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer, 343 U.S. 579, 635-38 (1952) the court recognized existence of President's authority to act contrary to a statutory command.

Also, consistent and substantial executive practice and precedent confirms this general proposition. Numerous Presidents, including President Bush, have provided advance notice through signing statements of their intention not to enforce specific statutory requirements passed by Congress.

Once again, what was defended by the hard-right when Bush was doing it is vehemently objected to when the Obama White House does it.

I want to learn, and hear how we can Fix America...I want some knowledge here as to what you think...lets disect each problem...and what we would do to fix it? I want to know if there are people out there who are not afraid to speak up, b/c bullies might come into this thread and make a fool out of them? So what? It's time we smarten up and speak out...ignore those who bully and try to embarrass the other side, b/c literally, they speak for themselves when it comes to intellect don't they?

When in the world are Americans going to stop defending they're corrupt parties? Every four to eight years, we bounce back and forth and back and forth, and buy into they're promises that do not come into fruition and lies...

Don't you think or believe, any candidate who is running for President would talk about the real issues of this instead of gay marriage, and women's rights??????????

I mean seriously....
think about it....why aren't they talking about our systems that are failing? all of them? Why aren't they talking about what they're plans are for helping this country create jobs once again, and, can a President really create jobs, when in fact it's the Corporations that are taking our jobs over seas?????? I mean, what is wrong with this picture? And Obama claims, he's created jobs and things are getting better? Yet, Romney, all he does is attack Obama and never touches base on the real issues of this country. OK, Romney, your running for President, what do you intend to do about all the illegals in this country draining our systems?????????? What are you going to do about our failing infostructure, which if addressed and we started to fix infostructure it would create jobs. I swear, all they do, is go for the throat, and the Americans are not seeing this...how utterly stupid we've become that we can't see how Washington and Politicians have literally ruined our county, and we're very close to becoming a 3rd world country? When are all of you going to stop fighting and blaming each other and wake up...BOTH SIDES ARE CORRUPT AND THE PROBLEMS THAT FACE US ARE HORRENDOUS!!!! THE DECISSIONS THEY'VE BEEN MAKING ARE NOT IN OUR FAVOR, AND YET, THEY TELL US, we need to have our taxes raised, then why oh why do they keep spending? When is it going to stop...for instance, the first thing I would do, in these hard times, is if I were elected, I'd not have the presidential inaugural ball!!!!
That is ridiculous...who pays for all the hollywood stars to come to the White House and Entertain?

Lets talk about what the President and Washington should do...
I don't want anyone in this thread who is going to bash the other side, I want intelligent posts from people who have the intelligence to see what's going on in politics...I want suggestions as to what you would do, if you were President....what do you see going on and how can we fix welfare, insurance companies, prices, what can we do about gas/oil, our military, education, what can we do to make America strong again...to help educate American's so that we never regress to this level again? To keep america free and not a socialist nation...what can we do about all the crime in America? How can we educate those who live in poverty, so they don't pull America down by living on welfare? How can we bring jobs back to America, so we can make better products?

Do any of you have any ideas...

Lets together fix America....this thread is open to all topics on how to fix America

Lets do it....

It doesn't matter.

A very large majority of Americans are stuck in a padded cell of partisan ignorance.

They'll never wake up and realize that mindless, partisan political loyalties are one of the Top Five reasons for this country's demise.

They can't get it through their thick, dull skulls that both of these parties have been playing them for the sockpuppets they are. They can't comprehend that both parties have contributed equally to the mess we are in and that neither party really wants any true solutions. They just want money, money....MONEY.

Yet, the sockpuppets line up eagerly to kiss their respective partisan idol's butt cheeks and proclaim their devotion to them. It's embarrassing and disgraceful.

With tens of millions of Americans watching, Barack Obama stood at the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2009, his left hand on the Bible and his right hand held aloft, swearing to God & country that he would preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Yet despite that pledge, President Obama has time and time again taken actions contrary to the principles of the founding document he swore to uphold, setting forth on a heretofore uncharted path of unconstitutionality that will fundamentally change the character of this Republic for the worse, not for the better. the Constitution was written specifically to prevent the collection of too much power by one branch of government. This is, after all, a president who has said he can’t wait for Congress to act and will govern by executive order and regulations if necessary. He has questioned the Supreme Court’s ‘unprecedented’ review of Obamacare.” “I think the president is dangerously close to totalitarianism. A few months ago he was saying the Congress doesn’t count. The Congress doesn’t mean anything. "I am going to rule by decree and by administrative regulation." Now he’s basically saying the Supreme Court doesn’t count. "It doesn’t matter what they think." "They can’t review our legislation".

I think you're right. However, I also think that the sad reality is that national elections are a two party system. There is no escaping it as it stands. There is no campaign funds for any other than the two party system. In local elections, it's more personal and you can cast a vote for an individual rather than a party. I would love to see that nationally as well.
We are just voting for either the lesser of two evils or the one we disagree with less and not who we think as a person has our country's best interests.

Sadly, that is correct. As did Bush Jr before him. And Clinton before him and Daddy Bush before Clinton and the B-Actor Reagan ...before that. And it goes on and on.

When it comes to mindless partisan sockpuppets (in both Repub and Demo parties), The Constitution only matters when the "opposing" party is in office. When their own party is at the helm, they can't even spell The Constitution. Nevermind remember what it states.

That's why it has to be torn down and restructured. As it stands now, we are on a dispicable Merry-Go-Round of corruption, corporate control and criminal manipulation and bullying.

We The People must make the change.

But we won't, because so many of We The People are too ignorant and self-serving.

I don't think it's that we are too ignorant. I think we just don't know where to begin. Myself included and I surely don't identify as being ignorant. I think we are at or coming to a crossroad in our country. Things will change but how this change will be brought about, I have no idea. I would like to see it though.
I think it will be the only way to really get us back on our feet again.

Any ideas? I'd really be interested in hearing them.
