President George W. Bush has got a very serious problem. Before asking Congress for a joint resolution authorizing the use of U.S. military forces in Iraq, he made a number of unequivocal statements about the reason the United States needed to pursue the most radical actions any nation can undertake -- acts of war against another nation.
Now it is clear that many of his statements appear to be false. In the past, Bush's White House has been very good at sweeping ugly issues like this under the carpet, and out of sight. But it is not clear that they will be able to make the question of what happened to Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) go away -- unless, perhaps, they start another war.
That seems unlikely. Until the questions surrounding the Iraqi war are answered, Congress and the public may strongly resist more of President Bush's warmaking.

I'd impeach Bush anyway just because it is good practice.... Impeach Cheney too.... In fact, I'd impeach Cheney first.... Or maybe I'd just invite Cheney to go hunting with me. (I've never held a gun in my life.)
Maybe lying about Iraq is an impeachable offense and maybe it isn't. The US House is really the only ones that can really say. But it really doesn't matter, it isn't going to happen. And even if the House impeached Bush the Senate wouldn't convict him. At best all it would do would tie up congress for the next year.

Regardless, sending airstrikes is not exactly the same thing as the bloody fiasco we're looking at now.
Context as snopes points out and cil called to our attention is more meaningful than a list of quotes that you haven't provided sources for.

While it is true that much of Democratic Congress is either too cowardly to call the President to account -- or in the alternate happy to see him self-destruct America as it will make them look better in their own eyes . . .
The issue of lying and starting wars under false pretense is much larger than just an impeachment. It is a War Crime. That is the level of behavior that should have most of America concerned.
Under the US military maxim "Do not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do," Bush and Cheney are unfit for military command. That Senior Officers will continue to go along with this nonsense sadly shows how devoid of honor much of our senior military has become.
