"Chief executive Ken Powell voiced the company's opposition Wednesday at a General Mills function attended by 400 gay and lesbian professionals, followed Thursday by a Web letter from the company's vice president for global diversity and inclusion, Ken Charles.
"We do not believe the proposed constitutional amendment is in the best interests of our employees or our state economy," Charles wrote. "We value diversity. We value inclusion."
Why does a cereal company need to even voice any opinion at all on homosexual activity? Oh I don't need to boycott their cereal I already don't buy it,way to expensive when I can get the same thing from the store brand for 2$ cheaper.
Good. I hope more companies relocate their jobs away from states that are so filled with hate for different people that they have written such hate in their constitution.
Also to FreedomandLiberty: General Mills makes several store brands. Store brands aren't just made by stores themselves... they are contracted out to other companies like GM.
Ah well I guess I can start making sure the ones I buy aren't contracted out to GM.No company needs to open their mouth about this you don't speak for the thousands of people who work for you. They are simply advocating their support for it. This is stupid as the government being involved in marriage it only creates problems.
How does a company have an opinion? People have opinions, a company is just a legal construct. And why would it matter what a cereal company thinks anyhow about social laws. Ok then, no more GM products in our house.

They are speaking out for their homosexual employees too. Why wouldn't a company want what is best for their employees?

According to the supreme court corporations ARE a person. I don't agree but ya know...what's left of sanity in this country anymore.
