Good. Yes, every life needlessly lost is a great loss. Even the dad in this case gets that--from what I've read, he's sincerely remorseful--even though he in essence allows the more crudely amoral elements of the population to make his case for him.
The guy was molesting a 4 year old girl! No kidding the dad probably feels like s*** for killing the guy, but come on!!!!! The guy decided to prey on a child who is by far more vulnerable than a full grown adult! What else do you expect? The perp shouldn't have put himself in that position!
He may not be, and I can understand that; he has to live with taking another nearly-human life. As for myself, I have no such concern. A piece of trash was violating a 4 year old girl. I'm quite happy he's no longer sharing the same planet as myself or other decent people, and that he has no further opportunity to hurt more children. To paraphrase a Clint Eastwood line, there are people that just need killin'.
I'll save my concern for the victims here. I hope the little girl doesn't suffer recurring memories or trauma from this, and I hope the father sleeps soundly.
Under Texas law, can the pervert's family sue the victim? I would hope he's protected from some bottom feeding lawyers.

the only issue I had was whether the story was true. They could have had an earlier beef and the dad used this as a cover up. It does appears to be accurate.

Exactly an example of what I'm talking about...from someone who can't even spell indict.
Ok, so you got me for the misspelling of the word indict. My opinion is that of a father with children of my own who, if in the same position would probably react the same way. I make no apologies for cheering a man who defends his child from an attack of a sexual predator by killing him. This father saved other children from being victims of this sub-human, but I guess that fact is secondary. The important issue here (besides grammar) seems to be the life of the innocent child molester. If the assistant coach in Ped State (pun intended) who walked in while Sandusky was raping that kid in the showers had half the ba**s this father had things might have turned out a little differently in that case as well.
