A few days ago on the California forum someone posted about how certain rural northern counties had a high % of people receiving government checks. They pointed out that those were all conservative red areas, even though a few of those counties voted for Obama and are more hippie than redneck. In those counties, they had a very high % of elderly compared to the Bay Area liberal counties, therefore increasing the amount of people on medicare and social security. Also a much higher % of veterans than the Bay Area counties,as well as signifigant native American populations. I'm rambling a bit. My point.
Why do liberals who attack Republicans for throwing granny over the cliff or cutting social security act like those two programs are the same as a welfare payment? IS that what you really think?
