They had "utility defaults" in Ohio. Duke levied a 30% rate increase; people got behind on the electric and natural gas bills because they could no longer afford it; Duke cut them off so they walked away from their McMansion and allowed a voluntary foreclosure; or they got onto a payment plan, but then they were unable to "afford" that, and finally had utilities cut off, so they just abandoned their McMansion.
Apparently, it isn't much fun sitting in the dark in a 300 square foot family entertainment center with a $5,000 Plasma TV hanging on the wall and a $6,000 surround sound system -- that doesn't work because there's no electricity.
You'll see more "utility defaults" when prices rise.
