The "health care mandate" (Obamacare) is an albatross around the neck of every business owner, and every individual. They still do not know what it's going to cost them. Therefore, many businesses are downsizing.
Additionally, many business are being forced to close simply because of lack of business. Consumer spending is down because incomes are down (many have lost jobs).
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. What is your problem?
I don't have a problem. I am doing well. The healthcare mandate has not hurt my business. Just anecdotal evidence, but I don't know any business that has downsized because of health care reform and I am on the chamber of commerce in my community. It seems that the problems with your business was primarily caused by the housing bubble bursting, and as I said, that started well before three years ago.
Private sector has added over 4.2 million private sector jobs since Jan 2010. How is that worse than those times where you might have had a job but 8.8 private sector jobs were lost? In fact, you likely lost your job as a result of that debacle. No?
From Obama's lips to your ears! You know, I heard Obama's lips (and Jay Carney's also) say that too. And you believe it!
Where are those jobs? They cannot say. It is "number crunching" at it's finest. In other words, it is pure propaganda. It's a lie. Prove it!

IF your source of income is the building and construction of new homes, it is no wonder you are not seeing it. That boat has sailed for a while and neither one of the candidates are going to be able to fix it.
Husband and I are doing substantially better than in 2009. He changed jobs that year, and thanks to annual promotions ever since, has seen 15% increase in salary since then. My job has been steadier with none of the usual 2-5 mos/year of downtime/decreased hours. That, plus a raise, has meant an increase of over 30% since 2009 for me.
We're finally comfortable financially, which is a new experience for the both of us.
Worse here by far. Making less, Retirement and 401K down by 30% off the peak. Paying more for Health Insurance. I still make good money and I never lost my job so I am thankful.
Considering most people in the country are doing worse I'm surprised at the amount of people here on cd who are doing better.
I'm doing much better now (in every way I can think of) than I was three years ago.
