I wish people would show more respect to the leaders that they elected, but leadership has no more protection from disrespect than anyone else in this country.

What's the saying: I don't like what they do, but I support their right to do it.

Sounds like you have your priorities in order.

We need more respect for leaders ( in this particular case politicians) , not that "leaders" (politicians) should have more fear and respect for voters. That's not the big problem.

You're a nice, moderate version of right wing lemming that craves to be led around.

I prefer my politicians scared of me. You want their love and acceptance.

Yeah..just look at what happened to that poor reporter that asked Obama questions about his amnesty announcement. They lambasted him all over the press for "disrespecting" the President.

yep, and I supported him. If the WH press corp had the spine and character of real journalists

They would sit their and mock, ridicule, interrupt these jokers the entire time till they got real answers.

But they are bought and paid for corporate sheep.

And the mentality of the posters on this thread just contributes to this awful press corp.

I would like our leadership to be leaders. Fearing those that they lead is not conducive telling people that they cannot have all they ask for. Conservative and liberal ideology has failed equally at that.

They could have at least been consistent and flipped off Clinton for signing DOMA and DADT, officially making them second class citizens.

Then start supporting citizens who have enough gumption to flip off pictures of politicians.

Even these gay rights activists, looking at the big picture, are on your side a hell of a lot more than politicians.

I agree with you to a point. I would not go flipping the finger at a dead President though.

I won't back that kind of behavior, sorry. It is not noble defiance, in my opinion. It is petty scorn.
