The wise words of Nancy Pelosi when asked about cspan coverage of the healthcare debate promised by Obama....paraphrased, 'you can't believe everything said on the campaign trail'.
Again, a charge levied against obama is now turned around to be charged against MR as O's followers hold up a mirror to deflect.
Sure Hope and Change worked quite well to get Obama elected and intentionally allowed for individual interpretation of whatever anyone imagined it meant. Now he grandstands on immigration and provides absolutely no details as to the limts, implications or process. "hey kids we're going to Disney" don't know how, when or if we can afford it or if it even is legal.
Obama, again makes economic predictions without any intimate knowledge of the financial crisis and that made him look incompetent. the level of detail must be intelligently approached, however, the adrenalin of politics mitigates common sense. So in one sense be wary of details and on the other be concerned when appropriate level of detail is provided.
It would be wiser to provide a general direction and philosophy because you would have to get a consensus, have a discussion and entertain contributors ideas. If you came across as Attila the Hun your path would be full of obstacles as your opposition would be bracing for an expect fight.
Obama has never ever provided details before or in the aftermath of disasterous predictions and behaviors.
So why tolerate the nebulous, foggy words and phrases of obama and hold Romney to a different standard?
I recall way back when Obama refused to give details of the econoic plan and said he didn't want to steal Tim Geithners thunder as he was speaking the next day. Woops....TG said nothing and no one ever followed up to fulfill O's promise of details.
