In one of the numerous books that I read on the subject, firemen expressed concern about fires on high up floors in these skyscrapers.

Let's say the buildings didn't collapse on 9/11. Look how high up the firemen only got before people were already jumping out of the windows. It's not like the fire houses that responded first were far away from the scene. Getting up to the 101st - 105th floor, where Cantor Fitzgerald was for example, is not a trip that can be made on foot, with equipment, with any kind of speed.

If I was an insurance company I'd refuse to cover anyone who worked on those floors or I would charge an extremely high rate.

I'm going to bet that when the new building is finished, they are going to have a hard time filling office space on the high up floors.

I do not think any building should be higher then a fireman can access safely. It is outrageous that they are put at even greater risk.
