I think the English should be the official language of the US. If foreigners have chosen to live in the US then they should at the very least learn basic English. Additionally, our stupid government should stop driving up taxes printing government forms in 99 foreign languages. I cannot wait until the era of PC dies.

90% of Americans do not speak Spanish.
Do you find pressing a button a difficult thing?

On what planet do you live where the government (any government) prints any forms "in 99 foreign languages?"

Here... find me three different languages. Knock yourself out.

Not that hard, but it's quite annoying having to do that when this country is an English-speaking.
Why does the 90% of Americans suffer for the 10%?

If over 30% spoke Spanish, then maybe, but not only when 10% speak it.

You're kidding right? I chose the number "99" sarcastically to emphasize how out of control the situation is.

However, it still allowed for government documents to be printed in other languages for people who are not yet fluent. "Official" language status would do that, "national" language status does not. That's just my opinion.

The 10% of us that can correctly conjugate the verb "to do" suffer whilst reading threads about how important it is to speak English.

I think its discriminatory that signs, telephone recordings, etc don't come in other languages. Don't we want equality for ALL people? Get with it US. I want to be able to press 14 for German.

I have to observe the remarkable persistence with which you repeatedly and passionately post comments that make absolutely no point whatsoever.

Why do you bother?
