There is no projection that they are going to outnumber Hispanics. The OP is probably referring to the news that came out two weeks ago that more Asian immigrants are coming to America than Hispanic immigrants. That trend may or may not continue.
Plus, the census showed that Asian's only have a fertility rate of 1.6, but Hispanics had a rate of 2.4. The sheer fecundity of Hispanics will make sure they have more demographic weight.
