It is fascinating to see the hatred directed at Arizona because the people there are tired of being used as a turnstile for the illegal immigrants the rest of the country uses for cheap labor. Put one of the holier-than-thou states like Massacusetts on the border, footing the bill for education, medical care, welfare, and law enforcement for thousands of illegals, and watch their citizenry's attitudes change.

Every putative negative characteristic attached to Arizona by the MSM and the left-wing extremists is easily exceeded by the ugliness directed at the citizens of Arizona, and why? Because Arizona wants the federal government to do its job and enforce our own borders? Wow. How racist of them.

If people want to place blame, put it where it belongs: first, on the government of Mexico, which keeps so many of its people in poverty and substandard living conditions, knowing full well that it can use the southwestern United States as a welfare relief valve; second, on the American businesses and private citizens who rely on cheap Mexican labor to accept substandard wages to keep costs and prices artificially low, while our own people suffer depressed wages and unacceptably high levels of unemployment; and third, on our two political parties -- the GOP, for making it easy for corporations to employ cheap Mexican labor and lower their operating costs, and the Democrats, for turning the argument into some sort of racial balkanization calculus of oppressed and oppressors, while scooping up millions of new voters who are receptive to crocodile tears.

Those are the culprits in this argument. NOT ARIZONA.

Yet the Obama cult complains about low wages and inability to find decent jobs. Everything their great one does works against them and they defend him and cheer.

Sounds like Holder and Obama beat AZ in droping them before AZ could drop Obamaworld.

AZ was betrayed and treated as a persona non grata....not much for AZ to lose if they drop out.

Mexico would invade Arizona, and the US would let it happen.

So what does a state do when it can't protect itself from invasion from another country because the federal government won't uphold the law??

Just wait 10 years, arizona will be purple going blue thanks to the immigration and the state will be quite happey with laxier immigration laws

Arizona, I stand here saying, you will be assimilated. Do not resist. Do not worry about leaving the union. You will be one with those you now oppose

Its only matter of time

and thats what the governor is REALLY concerned about

sigh, sore future losers

Couple things

1 - Not a welfare release valve. These people come here for jobs, and they work. Usually younger. Not saying they don't need some assitance. . but majority work

2 - you can blame the US drug laws for the sorry state of the Mexican economy. Hard to invest in infrastructure or bring in business when you have to deal with people dangling from bridges

Overall, your in a dream world. its almost a conspiracy theory where the President of mexico has some absloute authority and decides (let our country be poor). All the while, your friends/neihbors/etc are smoking the weed and snorting the coke that keeps Mexico down

Want Mexico to create more jobs

legalize drugs here in the US

and

make assault weapons illegal to manufacture, sell, or distribute in the US

then you would see a MExican impact

AND While your At it: Take govt. out of the immigration business. I'm okay with a tax/surcharge on immigrant workers (no more than 5% of income) but immigration should be a deal between the employer and employee. The govt. only role in immigration is to keep criminals and diseased out of the country.

What, as it is ready to turn Blue you want to get rid of it? Had the gerrymandering not been so strong it would have already been blue.

Actually, I like much of what you say. But you are arguing philosophy and what-ifs. I'm talking about the here and now.

And I note that you do not dispute that Arizona is taking the hit for Federal failures of policy and enforcement. I take that as tacit approval of my post...

Uh; it be more of a case of coastal Cali being pitched out of the US, NOT Arizona.

Mexican cartels: unlike the good people in Mexico; many people here in Arizona have guns and WILL use them. Gangbangers don't like to fight if there's a good chance many of them will wind up face down.
