It doesn't matter what you're for or against, the bridge is not affordable at this time.

According to most RWNJ's infrastructure is not and never will be “affordable" until a privately owned company builds it with a 25% return every year. What is actually unaffordable is private ownership of any publicly used infrastructure or monopoly.

Another factor is the Tea Party will do anything to keep Detroit from developing a decent economy because the city is either black or union or both. The TPers hate both.

Your boy Obama had $800 BILLION DOLLARS to use for infrastructure improvements.

He decided to hand that money to friends and families of bundlers and their solar companies and to state pension funds.

Stop complaining.

You aren't getting any more money.

The real problem is most of that money has NOT been spent. The RW had been wasting so much money on war that there were not very many "shovel ready" projects to start building. This is just one of thousands of bridges that need to be repaired, rebuilt or replaced before they fall down.

Now, here we have a good illustration of the GOP mind. A fantastic piece of critically needed infrastructure. This project will provinde many jobs over many years. It will inject billions into the Detroit area economy. It will help grow the biggest trade relationship in the world. It will cost the taxpayer exactly ZERO $$$$$ and YET we have a person here saying it's not affordable.

To these kinds of people there is absolutely no reality at all. They live in a lala land and the thing that never ceases to amaze me, they think that sane, rational people should give what they think any consideration at all.

It is an international crossing linking to a Federal Interstate. Michigan has no say so over it.
rotflmao.. Obama? Order a bridge to be built, without a full environmental impact study? He won't even get the pipeline going, and you want him to authorize a bridge without an environmental impact study?

Lucknow; give it up my friend. It's Canada and they don't give a rat's azz about anything associated with Canada. They'd rather ship a billion or two to Karzai to stuff up his nose than increase or improve commerce with Canada. They'd rather spend a billion or two on GM so it can move to China and do businees with a communist regime than meet Canada half way on anything.

You're wasting your typing here.

The bridge is very affordable. This is the BEST time to build it because interest rates on the bonds to finance it are at record lows. And it would help with lots of jobs in Michigan and Ontario.

The Republicans have always disliked Canada because governments in Canada, even the "Conservative Party" make the Republicans here look like the right wing fanatic lunatic fringe they are.

He needs to do both the pipeline and the bridge. And we don't need no stinkin study.
