There will always be people who believe in "Reefer Madness", and those folks just got affirmation with this story.
Sad, aint it?
I actually know people who became schizophrenics after getting into pot -- so it's really not very surprising about the Miami face eater. Only it turns out he didn't actually eat the guy's face, they found out he was spitting out the strips of skin he chewed off.
One widely publicized 2007 review of the research even concluded that trying marijuana just once was associated with a 40% increase in risk of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

Research conducted at the bar with your boozehound mates doesn't qualify.
Please quote your sources if you are going to state such wild claims.
Evidence is mounting that regular marijuana use increases the chance that a teenager will develop psychosis, a pattern of unusual thoughts or perceptions, such as believing the television is transmitting secret messages. It also increases the risk of developing schizophrenia, a disabling brain disorder that not only causes psychosis, but also problems concentrating and loss of emotional expression.
I knew a guy who used pot frequently and he actually thought eggs talked to him, he would hear sounds coming from the eggs he was about to crack to fry and it would freak him him out so much that he couldn't eat them. And he didn't think that was too weird to tell people about.
People are weird and all sorts of things might be bad for you but it's still not reason for the war on pot. Anyone who isn't insane from drugs knows that How many zombies have we had vs how many pot users? It's really a chance we all have to take....

That's ridiculous!
Smoking marijuana has many benefits including protection from lung cancer.
The Office of National Drug Control Policy has been spending millions of taxpayer dollars on advertisements and printed material declaring that marijuana causes cancer. The truth is just the opposite - marijuana can prevent cancer. Recent research has shown that the cannabinoids found in marijuana can not only halt the spread of cancer but can also kill cancer cells.
Data in Dr. Tashkin's study suggest that people who smoke marijuana are less likely to develop lung cancer than people who do not smoke anything at all. Since marijuana smoke contains the same cancer-causing agents as tobacco and the only difference between the nonsmokers and the marijuana smokers was their use of cannabis, then it is not an unreasonable hypothesis that marijuana can prevent the development of cancer. Then the guy was obviously just plain old insane then. I've never wanted to eat anyone's face off after smoking pot.
He was in his teens diagnosed with schizophrenia and apparently wasn't getting adequate medication from drugs for it and so no other drugs found in his system.
No bath salts detected: Causeway attacker Rudy Eugene had only pot in his system, medical examiner reports
An autopsy report says testing for a number of street drugs, including “bath salts,” came back negative, and that Rudy Eugene had only marijuana in his system
Rudy Eugene, the man who chewed off a homeless man’s face on the MacArthur Causeway and was shot to death by Miami police, had no drugs in his system other than marijuana, the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s office said Wednesday
