May not be Obama, may not be Holder, but somebody is gonna fry for this one before it's all said and done... It's NOT going away anytime soon and if Obama wants any chance of re-election he better have his AG come clean quick or it will be guilt by association at the polls.

Would anyone be shocked, besides those who pay little attention to what our gov does, IF this were the case?

If it were found out that this was indeed their plan, I guarantee the liberals/media would find a way to defend it or excuse it. Just like they do EVERYTHING else this administration does

The only reason the "gun walking" was allowed to happen was b/c of 3 laws the nra and gun lobby pushed.
  • Gun sales at gun shows are legal
  • Gun transfers after the sale are legal
  • Gun transfers are only illegal if you have proof that the intent of the purchase was to commit a crime
Even calling the op gun walking is a lie, since those guns were legal purchases b/c of the above.

So Conservatives either need top drop the faux outrage, trumped up charges, and partisan bs our jon hands w those that want to enact common sense regulations on gun sales.
Dude, you've just pieced together a fairytale. The gunstore owners made hundreds of calls to HS/ATF and were advised (forced) to sell the guns. They were the ones that blew the first whistles on this program. When Terry was murdered and the gun traced back to the US it blew the lid off the program.

You need to drop the bartisanship and recognioze that you are sounding like a parrot. You have the nerve to be outraged because people are outraged over a purely illegal program. Liberals raked Reagans administration over the coals for the Iran-Contra scandal, and that was selling weapons in exchange for prisoners. It saved lives of allied prisoners that Iran was holding hostage.

Democrats pump up their outrage on command, and now that some Republicans have grown balls, they are... outraged. What a crock of something stinky!!!

Default I think most young will vote

Obviously you cannot refute these, as those are all the crimes that, in addition to contempt in civil court, will be pursued in criminal court after the documents have been discovered.

Obama will get re-elected? Right. If Obama is re-elected, which is nearly impossible (Keep in mind LIKELY VOTERS- the young and minorities will not show up in record numbers like they did in 2008. They are unemployed and are not thrilled about Bo anymore), he will probably be impeached two years into the election, just as Nixon was.

Your point that Biden would be president for the last two years of an Obama presidency will make Obama's re-election hopes even more dim. You just pointed that out yourself.

Obama & Romney both want to continue putting harmless people in prison including cancer patients as part of the phony war on some drugs (people). #1 request to whitehouse.gov re-legalize cannabis. But neither will discuss it. Both want more wars that we can't afford & kill millions just to help corps make billions. We'll be beyond bankruptcy, our currency devalued by hyper-inflation is a likely result.

Gary Johnson says 50 million in US admit to being cannabis users. He's strongly for it & this issue may decide presidency. 75+ years of govt-corp fraud, people getting mad. That's lots of votes being thrown away. And I'm sure they won't want to be drafted. Most Ron Paulites will vote Johnson if they vote.

Good post--this brings up one of the many unexplained lies connected with F&F. A gun dealer in AZ called 'Lone Wolf' was a source for many F&F guns, at the behest of the BATF. 'Lone Wolf' was the source of the AKs found at the scene where Brian Terry was killed. When the owner of Lone Wolf expressed concern about where all the guns were going, he was assured that the guns would be closely tracked. That was a lie. And I don't think there has been any explanation offered by Holder or the BATF as to why.

For 15 months, Howard did as he was told. To customers with phony IDs or wads of cash he normally would have turned away, he sold pistols, rifles and semiautomatics. He was assured by the ATF that they would follow the guns, and that the surveillance would lead the agents to the violent Mexican drug cartels on the Southwest border.

When Howard heard nothing about any arrests, he questioned the agents. Keep selling, they told him. So hundreds of thousands of dollars more in weapons, including .50-caliber sniper rifles, walked out of the front door of his store in a Glendale, Ariz., strip mall.."

Restricting our 2nd amendment rights, no matter what form it takes, is still unconstitutional, if you read the bill of rights.

We are breeding violence in the godless times of today, instead of respect taught in decades past.

17 posts now, virtually all thumbs down, and OP does not return to defend his statement. It appears that there were just too many massive errors in this post to defend. The 'gun show' or private sales issue, as far as I can tell, had nothing to do with fast and furious. The sales went through licensed dealers, not private sellers.

It's hard to imagine a more lopsided debate loss than this. I'd still like to get the OP's take on the LA Times article that I posted about the AZ gun dealer's experience.

Only 'wingers and gun nuts care about this "scandal".... the rest of us, not so much.

Or to paraphrase Bill Maher, like we really believe that Republicans care about Mexicans getting killed!

So the gun dealers reporting people that are not suppose to have a firearm are filling out paperwork to obtain one and the federal government says sell it to them....

That is justice!
