MIAMI — Ushered in amid promises that it would save taxpayers money and deter drug users, a Florida law requiring drug tests for people who seek welfare benefits resulted in no direct savings, snared few drug users and had no effect on the number of applications, according to recently released state data.

getting rid of welfare is the only fiscally responsible thing to do.
If someone thinks that government by increasing its levels of bureaucracy can better manage taxpayers monies, they are ignorant of history.

Then what do you want done. For all government welfare to be abolished and have private charities take it over in which people voluntarily give?

I dug a little deeper and found this very funny.

The makers of this bill do not want to get tested...lmfao!

"The proposal is the brainchild of Republicans Hurley and Sen. Stacey Campfield. On the House floor Tuesday, Hurley again rejected a proposed amendment that would have required testing for lawmakers and another that would have required the state to pay for the tests."

Hey, Obama man here and I believe in drug test for welfare. I just had a random drug test and alcohol Breathalyzer the other day and I'm a veteran employee. Why shouldn't others? Plus I know some that wont stop smoking weed in order to get and keep a job.

Now dint get it twisted, I think weed should be the same as alcohol at the work place. Still now it is not so test away.
